Iglesias, A. published the artcileEssential oils from Humulus lupulus as novel control agents against Varroa destructor, HPLC of Formula: 110-42-9, the main research area is Humulus lupulus essential oil Varroa destructor control agent.

Humulus lupulus, commonly known as hops has widely been used in breweries globally, however, the acaricidal properties of H. lupulus derived products could also be a novel and interesting avenue of study against insect pests. We tested the antiparasitic activity of H. lupulus essential oils against the honeybee mite Varroa destructor, and its bioactivity against the honeybee Apis mellifera. The hop varieties used in this study were Cascade, Victoria, Spalt, and Mapuche. The essential oils were extracted from flowers by hydrodistillation and then characterized by CG-MS. We evaluated the toxicity of hop essential oils against mites, adult bees (A. mellifera) and larvae, and whether the oils were an attractant or repellent to mites. The major components of the oils for all varieties were β-myrcene, myrcene, beta-farnesene, alpha, and beta caryophyllene. Bioassays revealed that essential oils from all the varieties were toxic to the V. destructor mite. Victoria essential oil was the most toxic to V. destructor. The oils did not act as a repellent or attractant to the mites, and the bee (A. mellifera) mortality associated with complete exposure to the essential oil application was moderate to low. The results presented here provide promising results for the application of essential oils from hops grown in South America as an alternative method for controlling the honeybee mite Varroa destructor.

Acta Tropica published new progress about Antidiarrheals. 55981-09-4 belongs to class esters-buliding-blocks, name is 2-((5-Nitrothiazol-2-yl)carbamoyl)phenyl acetate, and the molecular formula is C12H9N3O5S, SDS of cas: 55981-09-4.

Hashan, Mohammad Rashidul published the artcileEffect of nitazoxanide on diarrhea: A systematic review and network meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials, SDS of cas: 55981-09-4, the main research area is review nitazoxanide antidiarrheals diarrhea; Antibiotic; Diarrhea; Meta-analysis; Nitazoxanide; Systematic review.

We aimed to systematically review evidence pertaining to the safety and efficacy of nitazoxanide in treating infectious diarrhea. On Sept. 21, 2017, we identified relevant studies using 12 databases. The estimates of the included studies were pooled as a risk ratio (RR). We conducted a network and pairwise random-effects meta-anal. for both direct and indirect comparisons of different organisms that are known to cause diarrhea. The primary and secondary anal. outcomes were clin. response until cessation of illness, parasitol. response and adverse events. We included 18 studies in our anal. In cryptosporidiosis, the overall estimate favored nitazoxanide in its clin. response in comparison with placebo RR 1.46 [95% CI 1.22-1.74; P-value <0.0001]. Network meta-anal. among patients with Giardia intestinalis showed an increase in the probability of diarrheal cessation and parasitol. responses in comparison with placebo, RR 1.69 [95% CI 1.08-2.64, P-score 0.27] and RR 2.91 [95% CI 1.72-4.91, P-score 0.55] resp. In Clostridium difficile infection, the network meta-anal. revealed a non-significantly superior clin. response effect of nitazoxanide to metronidazole 31 days after treatment RR 1.21 [95% CI 0.87-1.69, P-score 0.26]. In Entamoeba histolytica, the overall estimate significantly favored nitazoxanide in parasitol. response with placebo RR 1.80 [95% CI 1.35-2.40, P-value < 0.001]. We highlighted the effectiveness of nitazoxanide in the cessation of diarrhea caused by Cryptosporidium, Giardia intestinalis and Entamoeba histolytica infection. We also found significant superiority of NTZ to metronidazole in improving the clin. response to G. intestinalis, thus it may be a suitable candidate for treating infection-induced diarrhea. To prove the superiority of NTZ during a C. difficile infection may warrant a larger-scale clin. trial since its superiority was deemed insignificant. We recommend nitazoxanide as an appropriate option for treating infectious diarrhea. Martin, Chantal published the artcileSelectively Tunable Luminescence of Perovskite Nanocrystals Embedded in Polymer Matrix Allows Direct Laser Patterning, Quality Control of 142-90-5, the main research area is luminescence perovskite nanocrystal polymer matrix laser patterning.

Cesium lead halide perovskite nanocrystals (NCs) have gained enormous attention as promising light-emitting and light-converting materials. Most of their applications require embedding NCs in various matrixes, which is a challenging task due to their low stability, especially in the case of red-emitting CsPbI3 NCs. In this work, a new approach is proposed allowing the formation of red-emitting perovskite NCs by anion exchange induced directly inside a solid polymer matrix using green-emitting CsPbBr3 NCs as templates and iodododecane as an iodine source. Moreover, a simple and efficient route to photo-assisted termination of the anion exchange reaction in the polymer composite after reaching desired optical properties is demonstrated. The findings allow the authors to pattern a thin composite film with an ultrashort UV laser resulting in a selective generation of green- and red-emitting features with a 15μm resolution

The effects of single and twofold continuous pressure change technol. (PCT) applications on the volatiles and sensory characteristics of pineapple juice were studied. Fresh and thermally pasteurised juices were addnl. characterised. 128 volatiles were tentatively assigned in the four juices. Thermal pasteurisation and a single PCT treatment caused substantial losses in total volatiles of 6 and 20%, resp. A second PCT passage further reduced the volatiles (36%) and is thus not recommended. PCT-treated samples were clearly distinguished from the remaining juices by principal component anal. The descriptive sensory profiles, assessed by trained panellists, were not substantially affected by thermal pasteurisation and non-thermal PCT. The fresh juice exhibited a significant fishy off-flavor. In the consumer acceptance test, the thermally pasteurised juice was highly rated compared to both PCT-treated and the fresh juice. This study highlights the potential of PCT to avoid the genesis of off-flavours in fresh-like pineapple juice.

Zhou, Dandan published the artcileCharacterization of soluble sugars, glycosidically bound and free volatiles in fresh-cut pineapple stored at different temperature, Synthetic Route of 106-32-1, the main research area is cut pineapple quality glycosidically bound volatiles soluble sugar glucosidase.

Glycosidically bound volatiles are important precursors of overall aromas in fresh-cut fruit and this bound volatile can be deglycosylated to free forms by the catalyzation of β-glucosidase. The profiles of sugars, free and bound volatiles of fresh-cut pineapple subjected to 4°;C and 20°C were investigated. Results showed that cutting induced the increase of total sugars and sucrose in fresh-cut pineapple compared with whole pineapple, but contents of total sugar and sucrose decreased along with the storage. Cutting promoted the increase of most free esters, aldehydes, ketones and lactones at 1 d. Correspondingly, most esters, aldehydes, ketones and lactones in bound from were decreased by cutting with the induction of β-glucosidase. Besides, most free volatiles exhibited increased trends at 1 d and then decreased afterwards. Most bound volatiles exhibited decreased trends during the storage. Furthermore, in 20°C stored fresh-cut pineapple, most free esters decreased sharply during 4 d storage, and odor flavors became the most abundant aromas, like isoamyl acetate, Et decanoate, Et octanoate, Et acetate, and ethanol. A total of 14 volatiles were identified in free and bound forms, and cutting inhibited the accumulations of these bound volatiles but boosted the emissions of these free volatiles, correspondingly.
