Xu, Zhongzheng; Li, Lin; Liu, Jiawei; Dai, Caili; Sun, Wen; Chen, Jia; Zhu, Zhixuan; Zhao, Mingwei; Zeng, Hongbo published the artcile< Mussel-inspired superhydrophilic membrane constructed on a hydrophilic polymer network for highly efficient oil/water separation>, COA of Formula: C9H3F5O2, the main research area is polydopamine superhydrophilic membrane oil water separation; Mussel-inspired materials; Oil/water separation; Polymer network; Superhydrophilic surface.

Superhydrophilic/underwater superoleophobic membrane constructed by hydrophilic polymers possesses great advantage in the separation of oily waste water, due to its intrinsic oil-repellent property. The formation of hydration layer to repel and block oil is considered as the mechanism of underwater superoleophobicity and subsequent oil/water separation Constructing a stable hydrophilic polymer network on the substrate surface would significantly improve the robustness of hydration layer. In this work, a feasible and universal mussel-inspired dip-coating method was developed for constructing stable hydrophilic polymer network onto target substrate surface, via successively immersing substrate membranes into aqueous solutions of polydopamine (PDA) and catechol-functionalized hydrophilic polymer (CFHP). After pre-wetting with water, the polymer network would swell with water to form a thin and stable water film layer, serving as a barrier against oil penetration. The as-prepared CFHP/PDA modified membranes exhibit outstanding performance in separating various oil/water mixtures and oil-in-water emulsions stabilized by surfactants, with separation flux up to 5641.1 L璺痬-2璺痟-1 and separation efficiency achieving 99.98%. The surface modification method developed in this work can be easily extended to various materials and membrane systems, for achieving a variety of practical applications such as industrial wastewater treatment.

Hoenders, Daniel; Tigges, Thomas; Walther, Andreas published the artcile< Combining the incompatible: Block copolymers consecutively displaying activated esters and amines and their use as protein-repellent surface modifiers with multivalent biorecognition>, Reference of 71195-85-2, the main research area is multivalent biorecognition block copolymer facile synthesis orthogonal functionalization.

We present the facile synthesis and orthogonal functionalization of diblock copolymers containing two mutually incompatible segments, i.e. primary amines and activated esters, that are displayed chronol. and synthesized by consecutive radical addition fragmentation transfer polymerization (RAFT) of suitably modified monomers. Post-polymerization modification of the active ester moieties with functionalized triethylene glycol derivatives (TEG-NH2/BiotinTEG-NH2) furnishes a protein-repellent block with specific biorecognition, and the activation of the amine groups via deprotection results in newly reactive primary amines. We subsequently use these amines as an anchoring layer for the coating of aldehyde-functionalized polystyrene (PS) colloids and demonstrate tight adhesion and enhanced protein-repellent characteristics combined with specific and multivalent biorecognition of avidin as a function of block ratios. Our strategy demonstrates a viable approach for orthogonal combination of widely needed, but mutually incompatible, functional groups into complex polymer architectures.

Alex, Julien’s team published research in European Polymer Journal in 2021-01-15 | 71195-85-2

European Polymer Journal published new progress about RAFT polymerization. 71195-85-2 belongs to class esters-buliding-blocks, and the molecular formula is C9H3F5O2, Safety of Perfluorophenyl acrylate.

Alex, Julien; Ulbrich, Jens; Rosales-Guzman, Miguel; Weber, Christine; Schubert, Ulrich S.; Guerrero-Sanchez, Carlos published the artcile< Kinetic investigations on homo- and co-polymerizations of pentafluorophenyl (meth)acrylates>, Safety of Perfluorophenyl acrylate, the main research area is kinetic homo copolymerization pentafluorophenyl methacrylate.

Pentafluorophenyl methacrylate (PFPMA) and pentafluorophenyl acrylate (PFPA) are frequently used monomers to produce advanced materials for biomedical applications via (co)polymerization reactions. This contribution reports kinetic investigations of the reversible addition fragmentation chain transfer (RAFT) copolymerization of PFPMA and Me methacrylate (MMA) mediated by a dithiobenzoate chain transfer agent (CTA) at 70鎺矯 in DMF. Control with respect to the molar mass of the copolymers was observed for initial PFPMA monomer feeds 閳?0 mol%. The rate of PFPMA incorporation decreased with increasing initial PFPMA feed ratios. Reactivity ratios were estimated with a nonlinear regression that utilizes a visualization of the sum of squares space method (rPFPMA = 1.06 and rMMA = 0.44). The slight preference for MMA-type radicals to add PFPMA monomers increased the rate of consumption of PFPMA especially in low initial PFPMA monomer feeds. In addition, kinetic investigations of the RAFT homopolymerization of PFPA revealed an induction period and poor control on the polymer molar mass in the polar solvents acetonitrile and DMF using a dithiobenzoate CTA. A better control using the same CTA was observed in 1,4-dioxane. Polymerizations carried out in the presence of a trithiocarbonate CTA were less affected by the solvent polarity and a good control on the polymer molar mass was achieved in acetonitrile and 1,4-dioxane even at high monomer conversion (>95%, dispersity value (ETH) 閳?1.19).

Menyo, Mattew Stephen; Hawker, Craig J.; Waite, J. Herbert published the artcile< Synthesis and characterization of water-soluble polymers with pendant nitrocatecholic functionalities>, Recommanded Product: Perfluorophenyl acrylate, the main research area is fluoropolymer polyethylene graft nitrodopamine.

The catechol functionality has found widespread application in both natural and synthetic adhesive systems due to its strong, reversible, noncovalent binding to metal hydr(oxides) and metal ions, as well as oxidative chem. which can give rise to covalent crosslinking. While mussels and sandcastle worms are able to delay or benefit from the rapid autoxidation of catecholic Dopa to Dopaquinone which occurs at alk. pH, premature oxidation is a problem which plagues isolated marine adhesive proteins and synthetic catecholic constructs. Nitro-substituted catechol has been shown to maintain remarkable metal binding properties, and the substituted catechol is stabilized against oxidation by the inductive and resonance effects of the nitro group. Here, using activated ester chem., polymers with pendant nitrocatecholic functionalities have been synthesized and characterized.

Liu, Meina; Miao, Dengyun; Wang, Xingyou; Wang, Caiyun; Deng, Wei published the artcile< Precise synthesis of heterogeneous glycopolymers with well-defined saccharide motifs in the side chain via post-polymerization modification and recognition with lectin>, Recommanded Product: Perfluorophenyl acrylate, the main research area is heterogeneous glycopolymer post polymerization modification property.

Heterogeneous glycopolymers with different sugar units in the side chain have been receiving considerable attention due to their potential properties in enhancing mol. recognition abilities toward a specific receptor, yet there are limited synthetic approaches to introduce different sugar motifs into the glycopolymer backbone. Herein, a series of heterogeneous glycopolymers consisting of different sugar units in the side chains were synthesized by post-polymerization modification of activated PFPA ester precursor polymers. The functionalized amines bearing two different sugar motifs have been synthesized by gradient CuAAC reaction, which could serve as a platform for achieving heterogeneous sugar units with functional control in concise steps. Isothermal titration calorimetry (ITC) measurements of the obtained glycopolymers with Con A indicated that the heterogeneous glycopolymers, poly(Man-灏綠lu-OH) and poly(Man-灏綠a-OH) bearing 浼?D-mannose and other non-binding 灏?Glucose or 灏?Galatose units, show higher affinities toward Con A in comparison to monoglycopolymer poly(Man-Alkyne-OH) in which the non-binding sugar motifs was substituted with non-sugar unit due to synergistic effects of non-binding sugar units. Moreover, this work allows for precise fabrication of a broad variety of glycopolymers in which it significantly broadens the library of accessible polymer structures, either homogeneous or heterogeneous glycopolymers.

Janus kinase 1 (JAK1) plays a key role in most cytokine-mediated inflammatory and autoimmune responses through JAK/STAT signaling; thus, JAK1 inhibition is a promising therapeutic strategy for several diseases. Anal. of the binding modes of current JAK inhibitors to JAK isoforms allowed the design of N-alkyl-substituted 1-H-pyrrolo[2,3-b] pyridine carboxamides I (R = H, Me, cyclopropyl, cyclopentyl) as a JAK1-selective scaffold, and the synthesis of various Me amide derivatives e.g., II, provided III as a potent JAK1-selective inhibitor. In particular, the (S,S)-enantiomer of III exhibited excellent potency for JAK1 and selectivity over JAK2, JAK3, and TYK2. On investigating the effect of III on hepatic fibrosis, it was found that it reduces the proliferation and fibrogenic gene expression of TGF-灏?induced hepatic stellate cells (HSCs). Specifically, III significantly inhibited TGF-灏?induced migration of HSCs at 0.25娓璏 in wound-healing assays.

Here, we demonstrate that substitution of the benzyl groups of glucosyl imidate donors with trifluoromethyl results in a substantial increase in 1,2-cis-selectivity when activated with TMS-I in the presence of triphenylphosphine oxide. Stereoselectivity is dependent on the number of trifluoromethyl groups (4-trifluoromethylbenzyl vs 3,5-bis-trifluoromethylbenzyl). Particularly encouraging is that we observe high 1,2-cis-selectivity with reactive alc. acceptors.
