Carboni, Michael; Lin, Zekai; Abney, Carter W.; Zhang, Teng; Lin, Wenbin published an article in 2014, the title of the article was A Metal-Organic Framework Containing Unusual Eight-Connected Zr-Oxo Secondary Building Units and Orthogonal Carboxylic Acids for Ultra-sensitive Metal Detection.COA of Formula: C22H19NO4 And the article contains the following content:

Two metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) with Zr-oxo secondary building units (SBUs) were prepared by using p,p’-terphenyldicarboxylate (TPDC) bridging ligands pre-functionalized with orthogonal succinic acid (MOF-1) and maleic acid groups (MOF-2). Single-crystal x-ray structure anal. of MOF-1 provides the 1st direct evidence for eight-connected SBUs in UiO-type MOFs. But MOF-2 contains twelve-connected SBUs as seen in the traditional UiO MOF topol. These structural assignments were confirmed by extended x-ray absorption fine structure (EXAFS) anal. The highly porous MOF-1 is an excellent fluorescence sensor for metal ions with the detection limit of <0.5 ppb for Mn2+and three to four orders of magnitude greater sensitivity for metal ions than previously reported luminescent MOFs. The experimental process involved the reaction of Dimethyl 2'-amino-[1,1':4',1''-terphenyl]-4,4''-dicarboxylate(cas: 1312703-30-2).COA of Formula: C22H19NO4

The Article related to benzophenone octocrylene sunscreen aging stabilty safety, Placeholder for records without volume info and other aspects.SDS of cas: 6197-30-4

On April 19, 2021, Downs, C. A.; DiNardo, Joseph C.; Stien, Didier; Rodrigues, Alice M. S.; Lebaron, Philippe published an article.SDS of cas: 6197-30-4 The title of the article was Benzophenone Accumulates over Time from the Degradation of Octocrylene in Commercial Sunscreen Products. And the article contained the following:

Benzophenone is a mutagen, carcinogen, and endocrine disruptor. Its presence in food products or food packaging is banned in the United States. Under California Proposition 65, there is no safe harbor for benzophenone in any personal care products, including sunscreens, anti-aging creams, and moisturizers. The purpose of this study was to determine (1) if benzophenone was present in a wide variety of com. sun protection factor (SPF)/sunscreen products, (2) whether benzophenone concentration in the product increased over time, and (3) if the degradation of octocrylene was the likely source for benzophenone contamination. Benzophenone concentration was assayed in nine com. sunscreen products from the European Union and eight from the United States (in triplicate), including two single ingredient sources of octocrylene. These same SPF items were subjected to the United States Food and Drug Administration (U.S. FDA)-accelerated stability aging protocol for 6 wk. Benzophenone was measured in the accelerated-aged products. Sixteen octocrylene-containing product lines that were recently purchased had an average concentration of 39 mg/kg benzophenone, ranging from 6 mg/kg to 186 mg/kg. Benzophenone was not detectable in the product that did not contain octocrylene. After subjecting the 17 products to the U.S. FDA-accelerated stability method, the 16 octocrylene-containing products had an average concentration of 75 mg/kg, ranging from 9.8 mg/kg to 435 mg/kg. Benzophenone was not detectable in the product that did not contain octocrylene. Benzophenone was detected in the pure octocrylene manufactured ingredient. Octocrylene generates benzophenone through a retro-aldol condensation. In vivo, up to 70% of the benzophenone in these sunscreen products may be absorbed through the skin. U.S. FDA has established a zero tolerance for benzophenone as a food additive. In the United States, there were 2999 SPF products containing octocrylene in 2019. The safety of octocrylene as a benzophenone generator in SPF or any consumer products should be expeditiously reviewed by regulatory agencies. And the article contained the following:

Phosphorylated di-, tri- and tetra-saccharides of β-1,2-mannan antigen derived from Candida albicans (C. albicans) cell wall were synthesized and covalently conjugated with keyhole limpet hemocyanin (KLH) and human serum albumin (HSA) via a bifunctional linker under mild conditions. The semi-synthetic β-1,2-mannoside-KLH conjugates were evaluated for the immunization of BALB/c mice. The ELISA results revealed that all three conjugates could elicit high levels of specific IgG antibodies and the acquired antisera could effectively identify the β-1,2-mannan epitope. Furthermore, the immunofluorescence and flow cytometry assays also uncovered that the induced antibodies, especially that obtained from immunization with β-1,2-mannotriose-KLH conjugate (1b), could bind well to fungi cell. Eventually, the structure-immunogenicity relationship anal. of β-mannan showed that the length of oligo-β-mannoses had a big impact on their immunogenicity and β-1,2-mannotriose showed the strongest immunogenicity. The results suggested the great potential of β-1,2-mannotriose-KLH conjugate as an antifungal vaccine candidate. The experimental process involved the reaction of Bis(2,5-dioxopyrrolidin-1-yl) glutarate(cas: 79642-50-5).Computed Properties of 79642-50-5

Aigotti, Riccardo; Giannone, Nicola; Asteggiano, Alberto; Mecarelli, Enrica; Dal Bello, Federica; Medana, Claudio published an article in 2022, the title of the article was Release of Selected Non-Intentionally Added Substances (NIAS) from PET Food Contact Materials: A New Online SPE-UHPLC-MS/MS Multiresidue Method.HPLC of Formula: 6197-30-4 And the article contains the following content:

Food contact materials (FCMs) are an underestimated source of food chem. contaminants and a potentially relevant route of human exposure to chems. that are harmful to the endocrine system. Foods and water are the main sources of exposure due to contact with the packaging materials, often of polymeric nature. European Regulation 10/2011 requires migration tests on FCMs and foodstuffs to evaluate the presence of listed substances (authorized monomers and additives) and non-intentionally added substances (NIAS) not listed in the regulation and not subjected to restrictions. The tests are required to ensure the compliance of packaging materials for the contained foods. NIAS are a heterogeneous group of substances classified with a potential estrogenic or androgenic activity. Subsequently, the evaluation of the presence of these mols. in foods and water is significant. Here we present an online SPE/UHPLC-tandem MS method to quantify trace levels of NIAS in food simulants (A: aqueous 3% acetic acid; B: aqueous 20% ethanol) contained in PET preformed bottles. The use of online SPE reduces systemic errors thanks to the automation of the technique. For the developed anal. method, we evaluate the limit of detection (LOD), the limit of quantitation (LOQ), selectivity, RSD% and BIAS% for LLOQ for a total of twelve NIAS, including monomers, antioxidants, UV-filters and additives. LOD ranged between 0.002 μg/L for bisphenol S and 13.6 μg/L for 2,6-di-tert-butyl-4-methylphenol (BHT). LOQs are comprised between 0.01 μg/L for bisphenol S and 42.2 μg/L for BHT. The online-SPE/UHPLC-tandem MS method is applied to the food simulants contained in several types of PET packaging materials to evaluate the migration of the selected NIAS. The results show the presence (μg/L) of NIAS in the tested samples, underlining the need for a new regulation for these potentially toxic mols. Romano, Simona; D′Arrigo, Paolo; Tufano, Martina; Staibano, Stefania; Rea, Anna; Merolla, Francesco; Ilardi, Gennaro; Petrella, Antonello; Romano, Maria F. published an article in 2019, the title of the article was TRAF2 and FKBP51 as possible markers for identification of suitable melanoma tumors for tumor necrosis factor-α inhibition.Formula: C13H14N2O8 And the article contains the following content:

Tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) is a pleiotropic cytokine, whose role in melanoma is controversial. Although high-dose TNF-α is approved for the treatment of patients with in transit-metastatic melanoma confined to the limb, diverse preclin. models of melanoma have shown that TNF-α can induce cell invasion. Biomarkers that can differentiate between the dual role of TNF-α are needed. TRAF2 is critical to TNF receptor-induced activation of nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB), allowing shifting from death to survival-signaling cascades. The large immunophilin FKBP51 acts as a scaffold and catalyst in the IκB kinase complex assembly and activation. Here, using microscopy and an electrophoretic mobility-shift assay, we provide further evidence in support of the essential role of FKBP51 in sustaining the TNF-α NF-κB signaling in melanoma. Through the crosslinking reaction with the chem. linker disuccinimidyl glutarate, we show that a direct interaction occurs between FKBP51 and TRAF2 in melanoma cells. Immunohistochem. of tumor samples from 24 patients with cutaneous melanomas showed a correlation between the expressions of the two proteins. Given the association of FKBP51 and TRAF2 with TNF-α-induced NF-κB signaling and their correlation in tumor samples, we propose that the two proteins can be exploited as useful markers for the identification of those melanoma tumors that can benefit from TNF-α inhibition. Future studies will address this hypothesis. The experimental process involved the reaction of Bis(2,5-dioxopyrrolidin-1-yl) glutarate(cas: 79642-50-5).Formula: C13H14N2O8

Parrish, Emmabeth; Rose, Katie A.; Cargnello, Matteo; Murray, Christopher B.; Lee, Daeyeon; Composto, Russell J. published an article in 2020, the title of the article was Nanoparticle diffusion during gelation of tetra poly(ethylene glycol) provides insight into nanoscale structural evolution.Category: esters-buliding-blocks And the article contains the following content:

Single particle tracking (SPT) of PEG grafted nanoparticles (NPs) was used to examine the gelation of tetra poly(ethylene glycol) (TPEG) succinimidyl glutarate (TPEG-SG) and amine (TPEG-A) terminated 4-armed stars. As concentration was decreased from 40 to 20 mg mL-1, the onset of network formation, tgel, determined from rheometry increased from less than 2 to 44 min. NP mobility increased as polymer concentration decreased in the sol state, but remained diffusive at times past the tgel determined from rheometry. Once in the gel state, NP mobility decreased, became sub-diffusive, and eventually localized in all concentrations The NP displacement distributions were investigated to gain insight into the nanoscale environment. In these relatively homogeneous gels, the onset of sub-diffusivity was marked by a rapid increase in dynamic heterogeneity followed by a decrease consistent with a homogeneous network. We propose a gelation mechanism in which clusters initially form a heterogeneous structure which fills in to form a fully gelled relatively homogenous network. This work aims to examine the kinetics of TPEG gelation and the homogeneity of these novel gels on the nanometer scale, which will aid in the implementation of these gels in biomedical or filtration applications. And the article contained the following:

A review. Organic UV filter compounds are crucial components of sunscreen products, which are used to absorb UV radiation. However, the increase in consumption of UV filters has led to environmental concerns about their impacts on the environment and human health. This review found that the high lipophilicity and stability of UV filters can cause bioaccumulation leading to a wide range of adverse ecol. effects. UV filters′ concentration was detected in wastewater up to ppm, and their physicochem. characteristics such as the size of mol., pKa, hydrophobicity, and solubility significantly control their fate in the environment. Among UV filter compounds, benzophenone 3 (BP-3) and benzophenone 4 (BP-4) are the most common in wastewater. Various removal technologies for UV filters have recently been applied, including membrane separation, adsorption, advanced oxidation processes, and phytoremediation. Among them, hybrid treatment processes such as membrane bioreactors (MBRs) can remove UV filter compounds from wastewater with a removal efficiency of up to 96% (i.e., octocrylene and benzophenone-3). Future investigation should focus on developing green/eco-friendly sunscreens to reduce hazard impacts on human health and the environment. On December 31, 2022, Ma, Shenghong; Tang, Tracy; Probst, Gary; Konradi, Andrei; Jin, Chunyu; Li, Fulong; Silvio Gutkind, J.; Fu, Xiang-Dong; Guan, Kun-Liang published an article.Quality Control of Bis(2,5-dioxopyrrolidin-1-yl) glutarate The title of the article was Transcriptional repression of estrogen receptor alpha by YAP reveals the Hippo pathway as therapeutic target for ER+ breast cancer. And the article contained the following:

Extensive knowledge has been gained on the transcription network controlled by ERα, however, the mechanism underlying ESR1 (encoding ERα) expression is less understood. We recently discovered that the Hippo pathway is required for the proper expression of ESR1. YAP/TAZ are transcription coactivators that are phosphorylated and inhibited by the Hippo pathway kinase LATS. Here we delineated the mol. mechanisms underlying ESR1 transcription repression by the Hippo pathway. Mechanistically, YAP binds to TEAD to increase local chromatin accessibility to stimulate transcription of nearby genes. Among the YAP target genes, Vestigial-Like Protein 3 (VGLL3) competes with YAP/TAZ for binding to TEAD transcription factor and recruits the NCOR2/SMRT repressor to the super-enhancer of ESR1 gene, leading to epigenetic alteration and transcriptional silencing. We developed a potent LATS inhibitor VT02956. Targeting the Hippo pathway by VT02956 represses ESR1 expression and inhibits the growth of ER+ breast cancer cells as well as patient-derived tumor organoids. Moreover, histone deacetylase inhibitors, such as Entinostat, induce VGLL3 expression to inhibit ER+ breast cancer cells. Our study suggests LATS as unexpected cancer therapeutic targets, especially for endocrine-resistant breast cancers. Phelan-Dickinson, Sarah J.; Palmer, Brian C.; Chen, Yue; DeLouise, Lisa A. published an article in 2020, the title of the article was The UVR filter octinoxate modulates aryl hydrocarbon receptor signaling in keratinocytes via inhibition of CYP1A1 and CYP1B1.Safety of 2-Ethylhexyl 2-cyano-3,3-diphenylacrylate And the article contains the following content:

UV radiation (UVR) is a consistent part of the environment that has both beneficial and harmful effects on human health. UVR filters in the form of com. sunscreens have been widely used to reduce the neg. health effects of UVR exposure. Despite their benefit, literature suggests that some filters can penetrate skin and have off-target biol. effects. We noted that many organic filters are hydrophobic and contain aromatic rings, making them potential modulators of Aryl hydrocarbon Receptor (AhR) signaling. We hypothesized that some filters may be able to act as agonists or antagonists on the AhR. Using a luciferase reporter cell line, we observed that the UVR filter octinoxate potentiated the ability of the known AhR ligand, 6-formylindolo[3,2-b]carbazole (FICZ), to activate the AhR. Cotreatments of keratinocytes with octinoxate and FICZ lead to increased levels of cytochrome P 4501A1 (CYP1A1) and P 4501B1 (CYP1B1) mRNA transcripts, in an AhR-dependent fashion. Mechanistic studies revealed that octinoxate is an inhibitor of CYP1A1 and CYP1B1, with IC50 values at approx. 1 μM and 586 nM, resp. In vivo topical application of octinoxate and FICZ also elevated CYP1A1 and CYP1B1 mRNA levels in mouse skin. Our results show that octinoxate is able to indirectly modulate AhR signaling by inhibiting CYP1A1 and CYP1B1 enzyme function, which may have important downstream consequences for the metabolism of various compounds and skin integrity. It is important to continue studying the off-target effects of octinoxate and other UVR filters, because they are used on skin on a daily basis world-wide. And the article contained the following:

A standard method to test the aquatic toxicity of biol. active household chems. (BAHC), including those with very low water solubility, is proposed. The method uses the common marine models Paracentrotus lividus embryos and Acartia clausi larvae, in order to advance towards derivation of water quality criteria for these emerging pollutants that currently lack environmental standards Depending on the water solubility and octanol-water partition coefficient (Kow) of the substance, the protocol consists of testing the toxicity of the substances by serial dilutions of water stocks, dimethyl-sulfoxide stocks, or 100 mg/L lixiviates in seawater. When this method is applied to eleven model BAHC, the pharmaceutical fluoxetine, the antioxidant butylated hydroxytoluene, and the UV filters broadly present in cosmetics octocrylene and 4-methylbenzylidene camphor, are classified as very toxic to aquatic life, since their EC50 values are < 1 mg/L. In general, both biol. models, P. lividus and A. clausi, yield the same classification of the substances tested, but variations in the classification of aquatic toxicity depending on methodol. aspects are discussed. The use of A. clausi nauplii provides more protecting value to the toxicity parameters obtained by using this protocol.
