Glyceryl monostearate (cas: 31566-31-1) belongs to esters. Carboxylic acid esters of low molecular weight are colourless, volatile liquids with pleasant odours, slightly soluble in water. Cyclic esters are called lactones, regardless of whether they are derived from an organic or inorganic acid. One example of an organic lactone is γ-valerolactone.Recommanded Product: Glyceryl monostearate

Effects of Glyceryl Monostearate on the Retrogradation of Pea Starch was written by Wang, Ling;Lan, Xuyue;Xu, Wen;Du, Qinling;Deng, Sha;Jia, Dongying. And the article was included in Starch/Staerke in 2022.Recommanded Product: Glyceryl monostearate The following contents are mentioned in the article:

Pea starch (PS) jelly is prone to retrograde, resulting in increased hardness and decreased taste. Based on this, the effects of glyceryl monostearate (GMS) on the retrogradation properties of pea starch are investigated. The rheol., texture, thermal, mol., and crystal properties of PS-GMS blends are studied, and the possible interaction between PS and GMS is also analyzed. The addition of GMS reduces the hardness of pea starch gel, increases its springiness, and improves its quality. As the concentration of GMS increases, the onset temperature, conclusion temperature, and gelatinization enthalpy of the blend gels decrease. Moreover, GMS also reduces their ordered structure and crystallinity. The changes in the storage modulus after the addition of NaCl and urea indicate that GMS interactes with amylose mainly through hydrogen bonding. It can be concluded that GMS inhibits the retrogradation of PS gel by interacting with amylose through hydrogen bonds. This study involved multiple reactions and reactants, such as Glyceryl monostearate (cas: 31566-31-1Recommanded Product: Glyceryl monostearate).

In this study, microbes were isolated from the rice slurry of a fermented rice cake to obtain lactic acid bacteria and yeast species. These species were identified using microbial physiol. and gene sequence analyses. As the growth of the lactic acid bacterial strain R-2b and the yeast J-3a strains were found to be the best, a composite starter comprising these microbes was used for the preparation of fermented rice cakes. Based on single factor and orthogonal experiments, when the proportion of Lactobacillus plantarum, Saccharomyces cerevisiae, and Candida humilis was 1:3:6, the optimal fermentation conditions were addition of sugar and starter amounts of 20% and 6%, resp., a fermentation temperature of 32°C, and fermentation time of 8 h. The fermented rice cake with this optimum ratio had the most abundant volatile components and qualified physicochem. and microbial indexes. 4-Acetamidophenyl 2-acetoxybenzoate (cas: 5003-48-5) belongs to esters. Esters perform as high-grade solvents for a broad array of plastics, plasticizers, resins, and lacquers, and are one of the largest classes of synthetic lubricants on the commercial market. Esters contain a carbonyl center, which gives rise to 120° C–C–O and O–C–O angles. Unlike amides, esters are structurally flexible functional groups because rotation about the C–O–C bonds has a low barrier. Their flexibility and low polarity is manifested in their physical properties; they tend to be less rigid (lower melting point) and more volatile (lower boiling point) than the corresponding amides. Mol. topol. has been applied to the design of new analgesic drugs. Linear discriminant anal. and connectivity functions were used to design two potentially suitable drugs which were synthesized and tested for analgesic properties by the acetic acid-induced abdominal constriction test in mice and the tail-flick test in rats. In mice, the compound 1-(p-chlorophenyl)propanol showed higher analgesic activity, both i.p. and orally, then acetylsalicylic acid. 2-(1-Hydroxy-3-butenyl)phenol exhibited a lesser protective effect (70% of that shown by acetylsalicylic acid). In rats, acetylsalicylic acid gave the greatest protection against pain when administered i.p., while 1-(p-chlorophenyl)propanol was the most active orally. The 2-(1-hydroxy-3-butenyl)phenol, both i.p. and orally, showed the least protective effect. These results demonstrated the peripheral analgesic properties of the selected compounds, thus confirming the validity of the mol. design method. Carboxylic acid esters of low molecular weight are colourless, volatile liquids with pleasant odours, slightly soluble in water. Many esters have the potential for conformational isomerism, but they tend to adopt an s-cis (or Z) conformation rather than the s-trans (or E) alternative, due to a combination of hyperconjugation and dipole minimization effects. The preference for the Z conformation is influenced by the nature of the substituents and solvent, if present. Simple and reliable prediction of toxicological activities of benzoic acid derivatives without using any experimental data or computer codes was written by Keshavarz, Mohammad Hossein;Pouretedal, Hamid Reza. Most of the benzoic acid derivatives can exhibit toxicity through serious public health and environmental problems. A reliable correlation is introduced for desk calculation of benzoic acid derivatives in rats via oral 50 % LD (LD50). It can be easily used for any benzoic acid compound containing the carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, oxygen and halogen atoms, or their sodium salts. The novel correlation is based on nitrogens, oxygens, and halogens as well as two correcting functions for increasing and decreasing toxicity of benzoic derivatives, which arise from some specific structural moieties. The predicted results for the toxicity of 81 benzoic acid derivatives in rats via oral LD50 are more reliable than reported values by training and test sets of quant. structure-toxicity relationship (QSTR). The forecasting ability of the new model has also been checked for further 134 benzoic acid derivatives containing complex mol. structures. For the first time, a comprehensive study on the performance of 4-methyltetrahydropyran (4-MeTHP) as an organic reaction solvent was reported. Its broad application to organic reactions includes radical, Grignard, Wittig, organometallic, halogen-metal exchange, reduction, oxidation, epoxidation, amidation, esterification, metathesis, and other miscellaneous organic reactions. This application suggests that 4-MeTHP can serve as a substitute for conventional ethers and harmful halogenated solvents. However, 4-MeTHP was found incompatible with strong Lewis acids, and the C-O bond was readily cleaved by treatment with BBr3. Moreover, the radical-based degradation pathways of 4-MeTHP, THP and 2-MeTHF were elucidated on the basis of GC-MS analyses. The data reported herein is anticipated to be useful for a broad range of synthetic chemists, especially industrial process chemists, when selecting the reaction solvent with green chem. perspectives. The acid value (AV) and peroxide value (POV), triobarbituric acid (TBA) value, carbonyl value, total acidity, moisture content, free fatty acid and fat during the production process of fermented Cantonese sausages were determined and their correlations were analyzed. The results showed that the AV, POV, TBA and carbonyl value increased as the production process proceeded. The contents of saturated fatty acids and free fatty acids were enhanced during the whole roasting process while the content of unsaturated fatty acids declined from 8 h onwards, which may be due to the continuous oxidation and hydrolysis of fat during the manufacturing process. In addition, pos. correlations among acid value, peroxide value, TBA, carbonyl value, total acid, moisture and fat content were observed POV was significantly correlated with total acidity. Therefore, rancidity degree and the degree of fat oxidation showed consistent trends during the manufacturing process. For metabolome sample preparation, rapid quenching of cellular metabolism without severe loss of intracellular metabolites is important. Here, we comparatively evaluated the two sampling methods, cold methanol quenching and fast filtration, for one of the most important industrial microorganisms, yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The latter, using a vacuum manifold system capable of processing up to twenty samples simultaneously, was developed here. The results showed that the cold methanol quenching method resulted in severe losses of intracellular metabolites but that sugars and sugar phosphates were highly preserved. In comparison, the fast filtration method better preserved most metabolites with less extracellular contamination. Our results suggested that the fast filtration method with a vacuum manifold system can be widely applied to yeast metabolome anal. due to its simplicity, robustness, and lack of significant intracellular metabolite loss. Present study includes the comparison of methods of external and internal standard for the estimation of parameters like linearity and precision in gas chromatog. anal. of docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) with flame ionization detector at temperature 140°C – 280°C and using hydrogen as gas carrier. Linear dependence of the ratio of area of methylated DHA/area of Me nonadecanoate (internal standard) to the DHA concentration was obtained. There was no observed difference between the correlation coefficients for two methods (R2 = 0.9928). From the exptl. results, it is obvious that related standard deviation (RSD) for internal standard method is more than RSD for external standard method, which demonstrates that nonadecanoic acid is not a suitable internal standard The external standard method allows achievement of good linearity and precision and is appropriate for identification and determination of DHA and fatty acids in food supplements.
