Key aroma compounds and metabolic profiling of Debaryomyces hansenii L1-1-fermented Flos Sophorae was written by Zhang, Qianying;Ma, Zhongbao;Meng, Qi;Li, Dongliang;Ding, Zhongyang. And the article was included in Journal of Food Biochemistry in 2021.Product Details of 695-06-7 This article mentions the following:

The extract from Debaryomyces hansenii L1-1-fermented Flos Sophorae has a unique aroma and could be used as a natural spice. The influence of yeast growth and culture medium pH on organoleptic properties of fermented substrates, as well as on the content of volatile aromatic compounds, total sugars, polysaccharides, reducing sugars, total proteins, and amino acids, were analyzed. Metabolic pathways were annotated to compare and contrast key aromatic compounds and metabolic profiles of water and ethanol extracts of D. hansenii L1-1-fermented Flos Sophorae. We found that cells grew most rapidly, pH values changed significantly, and the largest consumption of sugars and amino acids occurred within 48 h, producing bouquet-like, fruity, and sweet odors, as well as the highest content of volatile aromatic compounds in the extracts The main aroma metabolites were 2-phenylethanol, linalool, and α-terpineol. The sensory quality of the ethanol extracts was superior to that of the water extracts Five aromatic compounds, isoamyl alc., 2-methylbutan-1-ol, isobutyric acid, 2,3-hexanedione, and 1-hexanol, were pos. correlated with the water extract group and neg. correlated with the ethanol extract group, whereas 13 aromatic compounds, styrene, acetophenone, 2-octen-1-ol, linalool, naphthalene, α-terpineol, dihydrocarveol, (-)-myrtenol, Me anthranilate, eugenol, γ-nonanolactone, jasmone, and β-ionone, showed the converse trend. Although 2-phenylethanol displayed the highest concentration in the extracts, it did not significantly contribute to the separation of ethanol and water extracts In Flos Sophorae medium, D. hansenii mainly produces 2-phenylethanol from phenylalanine by the Ehrlich reaction, whereas it produces linalool and α-terpineol by the terpenoid backbone and monoterpenoid biosynthetic pathways; the variable contents of proline, arginine, and glutamate could respond to the arginine and proline metabolic pathways. Practical applications : Flos Sophorae, a collection of buds of Sophora japonica L., is a traditional Chinese medicinal and edible plant for its good aroma, taste, and nutritional value. Debaryomyces hansenii is a common, aroma-producing yeast. D. hansenii L1-1-fermented Flos Sophorae had a unique, bouquet-like aroma, slightly softer than the typical Flos Sophorae-like aroma. This study enriches our understanding of predominant aroma components and determines their contribution to the profiles of Flos Sophorae ferments obtained using D. hansenii L1-1. Researchers and manufacturers specializing in spices making can use these data to improve the aromatic profiles of natural spices produced by microorganisms, thereby obtaining unique aromas. In the experiment, the researchers used many compounds, for example, 5-Ethyldihydrofuran-2(3H)-one (cas: 695-06-7Product Details of 695-06-7).

The Premarket Tobacco Product Applications (PMTA) guidance issued by the Food and Drug Administration for electronic nicotine delivery systems (ENDSs) recommends that in addition to reporting harmful and potentially harmful constituents (HPHCs), manufacturers should evaluate these products for other chems. that could form during use and over time. Although e-vapor product aerosols are considerably less complex than mainstream smoke from cigarettes and heated tobacco product (HTP) aerosols, there are challenges with performing a comprehensive chem. characterization. Some of these challenges include the complexity of the e-liquid chem. compositions, the variety of flavors used, and the aerosol collection efficiency of volatile and semi-volatile compounds generated from aerosols. In this study, a non-targeted anal. method was developed using gas chromatog.-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) that allows evaluation of volatile and semi-volatile compounds in e-liquids and aerosols of e-vapor products. The method employed an automated data anal. workflow using Agilent MassHunter Unknowns Anal. software for mass spectral deconvolution, peak detection, and library searching and reporting. The automated process ensured data integrity and consistency of compound identification with >99% of known compounds being identified using an inhouse custom mass spectral library. The custom library was created to aid in compound identifications and includes over 1,100 unique mass spectral entries, of which 600 have been confirmed from reference standard comparisons. The method validation included accuracy, precision, repeatability, limit of detection (LOD), and selectivity. The validation also demonstrated that this semi-quant. method provides estimated concentrations with an accuracy ranging between 0.5- and 2.0-fold as compared to the actual values. The LOD threshold of 0.7 ppm was established based on instrument sensitivity and accuracy of the compounds identified. To demonstrate the application of this method, we share results from the comprehensive chem. profile of e-liquids and aerosols collected from a marketed e-vapor product. Applying the data processing workflow developed here, 46 compounds were detected in the e-liquid formulation and 55 compounds in the aerosol sample. More than 50% of compounds reported have been confirmed with reference standards The profiling approach described in this publication is applicable to evaluating volatile and semi-volatile compounds in e-vapor products. Discrimination of French wine brandy origin by PTR-MS headspace analysis using ethanol ionization and sensory assessment was written by Malfondet, Nicolas;Brunerie, Pascal;Le Quere, Jean-Luc. And the article was included in Analytical and Bioanalytical Chemistry in 2021.Electric Literature of C6H10O2 This article mentions the following:

The headspace volatile organic compound (VOC) fingerprints (volatilome) of French wine brandies were investigated by proton transfer reaction time-of-flight mass spectrometry (PTR-ToF-MS). Protonated ethanol chem. ionization was used with dedicated exptl. conditions that were previously validated for model wines. These included a reference vial containing a hydro-alc. solution with the same ethanol content (20% volume/volume) as the diluted sample spirits, which was used to establish steady-state ionization conditions. A low elec. field strength to number d. ratio E/N (85 Td) was used in the drift tube in order to limit the fragmentation of the protonated analytes. The obtained headspace fingerprints were used to investigate the origin of French brandies produced within a limited geog. production area. Brandies of two different vintages (one freshly distilled and one aged for 14 years in French oak barrels) were successfully classified according to their growth areas using unsupervised (principal component anal., PCA) and supervised (partial least squares regression discriminant anal., PLS-DA) multivariate analyses. The models obtained by PLS-DA allowed the identification of discriminant volatile compounds that were mainly characterised as key aroma compounds of wine brandies. The discrimination was supported by sensory evaluation conducted with free sorting tasks. The results showed that this ethanol ionization method was suitable for direct headspace anal. of brandies. They also demonstrated its ability to distinguish French brandies according to their growth areas, and this effect on brandy VOC composition was confirmed at a perceptive level. Evaluation and comparison of the microbial consortia enriched by gamma-caprolactone and N-Acyl homoserine lactones for effective quorum sensing disruption was written by Xu, Boyan;Ng, Tze Chiang Albert;Huang, Shujuan;Varjani, Sunita;Ng, How Yong. And the article was included in International Biodeterioration & Biodegradation in 2021.Recommanded Product: 5-Ethyldihydrofuran-2(3H)-one This article mentions the following:

This study proposed and compared 3 novel quorum quenching consortia (QQC) composed of abundant quorum quenching (QQ) candidates including bacteria and fungi for effective quorum sensing disruption, which were isolated by mixtures of N-Acyl homoserine lactones (AHLs) and gamma-caprolactone (GCL). AHLs removal anal. indicated that different QQC could efficiently remove specific AHLs. When utilizing AHLs, the growth rates of QQC isolated by the mixtures of AHLs were significantly higher than those utilizing acetate. It congruously suggested that these QQC had higher substrate specificities towards AHLs, indicating their sustainable QQ performance, as compared to that of the QQC enriched by GCL. There was a clear shift in the microbial community diversity and composition among QQC, which were implicated by the structure differences among GCL and AHLs as substrates in the enrichment culture. The different community assemblages within QQC were the main determinants accounting for the diverse QQ performance. Collectively, these findings offered inspiring implications for sustainable QQ bioaugmentation and biostimulation applications in membrane bioreactors (MBRs). In the present research, four different samples were investigated by multiple analyzing technol. to reveal the common unique flavor and taste of traditional Pixian Doubanjiang (PXDBJ). These samples were manufactured by inheritor according to the intangible skills and ripened for two years in different enterprises. Citric acid, malic acid, Glu and Asp were the dominant non-volatiles, the proportion of both organic acids ranged from 54.78% to 65.61%, while that of both free amino acids ranged from 22.49% to 29.39%. Et palmitate, Et laurate, γ-cis-himachalane, (+)-valencene and β-ionone were identified as typical volatile constituents by three kinds of GC techniques combined with three pretreatment approaches. These results suggested that these five volatiles and the proportion of four non-volatiles could be used as indicators of flavor and taste to discriminate with other types of traditional fermented soy pastes (miso, dajiang, gochujiang, etc), and were also proofed by sensory evaluation. It laid a vital foundation for revealing the contribution of the traditional skill to unique quality of PXDBJ and the correlation between microbial community diversity and their metabolic regulation. Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) is a lethal malignancy that is extremely refractory to the therapeutic approaches that have been evaluated to date. Recently, it has been demonstrated that PDAC tumors are dependent upon a metabolic pathway involving aspartate aminotransferase 1, also known as glutamate-oxaloacetate transaminase 1 (GOT1), for the maintenance of redox homeostasis and sustained proliferation. As such, small mol. inhibitors targeting this metabolic pathway may provide a novel therapeutic approach for the treatment of this devastating disease. To this end, from a high throughput screen of 00,000 mols., 4-(1H-indol-4-yl)-N-phenylpiperazine-1-carboxamide was identified as an inhibitor of GOT1. Mouse pharmacokinetic studies revealed that potency, rather than inherent metabolic instability, would limit immediate cell- and rodent xenograft-based experiments aimed at validating this potential cancer metabolism-related target. Medicinal chem.-based optimization resulted in the identification of multiple derivatives with >10-fold improvements in potency, as well as the identification of a tryptamine-based series of GOT1 inhibitors. Strawberry is one of the most popular fruits in the world because of its good organoleptic characteristics, as its aroma is a complex characteristic that significantly contributes to fruit quality. In the present work, we performed a comparative study of the differences in the volatile organic compounds (VOCs) contents and the enzymic activity and gene expression of alc. acyltransferases (AATs) in four strawberry (Fragaria x ananassa Duch.) cultivars (Camarosa, Cristal,Monterey and Portola). In the four cultivars esters were the most important group among the observed VOCs; however in terms of differences in concentration, the Monterey and Portola cultivars showed the highest ester concentrations, while Cristal showed the lowest, and Camarosa showed an intermediate concentration With respect to the mRNAs of the genes encoding two enzymes (SAAT and FaAAT2), we observed higher transcript levels in the Monterrey and Portola cultivars than in the other two cultivars (Cristal and Camarosa). Finally, the results suggested a temporal relationship exists between total AAT activities, VOCs contents and mRNA gene expression, which could be valuable for future breeding activities. The chem. validation of a potential herbicide target was investigated with 8-amino-7-oxononanoate synthase (AONS, also known as 7-keto-8-aminopelargonate synthase, KAPAS) and triazolyl Ph disulfide derivatives in vitro and in vivo. AONS activity was completely inhibited by these synthesized compounds, with an IC50 of 48 to 592μM in vitro. Forty five-day old Arabidopsis thaliana plants were completely killed by representative compound KHG23844 {N-(2-fluorophenyl)-3-(phenyldisulphanyl)-1H-1,2,4-triazole-1-carboxamide} at the application rate of 250 g ha-1 of foliar treatment in greenhouse conditions. Foliar application of 1000 g ha-1 KHG23844 induced 2.3-fold higher L-alanine accumulation in the treated A. thaliana plants. Foliar supplement of 1 mM biotin at 1 and 2 days before KHG23844 application effectively recovered the growth inhibition of A. thaliana plant treated with KHG23844.
