A novel composite and functional micro-nanometer particle is designed by the hydrolysis of aluminum isopropoxide on the surface of ammonium polyphosphate (APP) to prepare surface nanostructured ammonium polyphosphate (NSAPP). NSAPP is characterized by XPS, XRF, SEM, water solubility tests, and TGA. Results indicate that nanosized aluminum hydroxide is deposited on the surface of NSAPP, which enhanced its water resistance and thermostability. Then, APP and NSAPP coupled with dipentaerythritol (DPER) is used for the flame retardant of polypropylene (PP). The limiting oxygen index value of the PP/DPER/NSAPP composite is higher than that of PP/DPER/APP. Besides, the UL 94 vertical burning test of PP/DPER/NSAPP composites can reach the V-0 rating easily. According to the study of the combustion behavior of FR-PP composites, NSAPP contributes to form a dense and multi-layered char in the combustion process. Thus, such an intumescent char with a ceramic-like, continuous, and dense structure over the PP matrix protects the underlying matrix and enhances the thermal stability of the condensed phase, thereby improving the flame retardant performance of FR-PP.

Microwavable plastic food containers (MPFCs) are extensively used for food storage, cooking, rapid heating and as take-out containers. There is an urgent need to investigate whether MPFCs pose potential health risks, as a result of the migration of chems. into foods. Herein, 42 intentionally added substances (IAS) and > 100 non-IAS (NIAS) migrating from MPFCs were identified in food simulants according to Regulation (EU). The migration of major IAS and NIAS was higher in 95% ethanol compared to other simulants, and gradually decreased following repeated use. NIAS, including Cramer class III toxic compounds, such as PEG oligomers of N,N-bis(2-hydroxyethyl) alkyl(C8-C18)amines, isomers of hexadecanamide and oleamide, and Irgafos 168 OXO were detected and exceeded the recommended limits in some MPFCs. Furthermore, microplastics (MPs) were detected with high values of over one million particles/L in some MPFCs in a single test, and migration behaviors of MPs in different MPFCs were diverse. Surprisingly, this rigorous migration might result in an annual intake of IAS/NIAS up to 55.15 mg and 150 million MPs particles if take-out food was consumed once a day. Multi-safety evaluation studies on the migration of various chems. from MPFCs to foodstuffs during food preparation should be assessed.

Tropomyosin receptor kinase (TRK) is an ideal target for treating cancers caused by the NTRK gene fusion. In this study, more than 60 2,4-diaminopyrimidine derivatives were prepared to understand the structure-activity relationship and confirm the rationality of the pharmacophore model reported previously. Among them, compound I was found to be a potent pan-TRK inhibitor that inhibits the proliferation of Km-12 cell lines. Addnl., compound I induced the apoptosis of Km-12 cells in a concentration-dependent manner. Western blot anal. revealed that compound I inhibited the phosphorylation of TRK to block downstream pathways. Compound I also possessed outstanding plasma stability and liver microsomal stability in vitro, with half-lives greater than 289.1 min and 145 min, resp. Pharmacokinetic studies indicated that the oral bioavailability of compound I is 17.4%. These results demonstrate that compound I could serve as a novel lead compound for overcoming NTRK-fusion cancers.
