Domanski, Grzegorz published the artcileMaternal pre-pregnancy underweight as a risk factor for the offspring: Survey of Neonates in Pomerania., Related Products of esters-buliding-blocks, the main research area is SNiP; birth cohort study; neonatal outcome; pre-pregnancy BMI; underweight.

AIM: The aim was to investigate socio-economic risk factors for maternal underweight before pregnancy and then associations of underweight with neonatal outcomes. METHODS: Data of 3401 mother-child dyads from the population-based birth cohort Survey of Neonates in Pomerania (SNiP) were analysed. RESULTS: Bivariate analysis showed that underweighted mothers were younger, smoked more often, had a lower equivalent income and lower socio-economic status (employment status and/or educational level) compared to women with normal weight. The final prediction model revealed that only younger maternal age (OR = 0.93; 95%-CI = 0.90-0.97) and maternal smoking during pregnancy (OR = 2.52; 95%-CI = 1.74-3.66) were associated with underweight. Compared to women with normal pre-pregnancy BMI, underweight women had an increased chance of premature labour (OR = 1.73; 95% CI: 1.29-2.31) and a reduced placental weight. The offspring of underweight women had an increased risk of late preterm birth (OR = 1.82; 95% CI: 1.21-2.74) and birthweight < 2500 g (OR = 1.91; 95% CI: 1.23-2.95). CONCLUSION: Smoking during pregnancy and a younger age were identified as risk factors for maternal pre-pregnancy underweight which then was associated with late preterm birth and low birthweight. Acta paediatrica (Oslo, Norway : 1992) published new progress about SNiP; birth cohort study; neonatal outcome; pre-pregnancy BMI; underweight. 123-29-5 belongs to class esters-buliding-blocks, name is Ethyl nonanoate, and the molecular formula is C11H22O2, Related Products of esters-buliding-blocks.

Hess, Stefan published the artcileApproach to the Core Structure of Streptosetin A, Computed Properties of 539-88-8, the main research area is streptosetin A core synthesis.

Streptosetin A (I) belongs to the 3-decalinoyltetramic acids. In contrast to most of other known natural products of this type, the decalin part features a β-hydroxyketone subunit, making an intramol. cycloaddition approach less suitable. We examined an approach where the decalin part would be fashioned by an intramol. aldol addition By using a Diels-Alder reaction between the Rawal diene and a substituted methacrylate, a cyclohexanone was obtained. An organocuprate addition introduced the Et substituent before, the side chain was converted to an enal. However, contrary to our expectations, the aldol reaction led to the condensation product. Other routes to reach the key cyclohexanone were also investigated.

Background: Type 2 diabetes (T2D) is a low-grade inflammatory condition with abnormalities in the immune response mediated by T lymphocytes and macrophages. Drug repositioning for immunomodulatory mols. is an attractive proposal for treating T2D. Nitazoxanide (NTZ) is a broad-spectrum drug with promising immunomodulatory effects. Thus, we investigated the immunomodulatory effect of NTZ on peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) from patients with T2D. Methods: Fifty patients with T2D were selected, and the proliferative response of T lymphocytes and the M1/M2 ratio of macrophages post cell culture were evaluated by flow cytometry, as well as measuring the concentration of cytokines by ELISA and the relative expression of microRNAs (miRNAs) related to the immune response by real-time PCR. Results: NTZ exerts an inhibitory effect on the cell proliferation of T lymphocytes stimulated with anti-CD3 and anti-CD28 antibodies without modifying cell viability, and significant decreases in the supernatant concentrations of interleukin (IL)-1β, IL-2, IL-6, IL-10, and IL-12. Furthermore, NTZ neg. regulates the relative expression of miR-155-5p without changes in miR-146a-5p. The M1/M2 ratio of monocytes/macrophages decreased the M1 and increased the M2 subpopulation by NTZ. Conclusions: Our results suggest that NTZ exerts immunomodulatory effects on PBMCs from T2D patients, and shows potential alternative therapeutic benefits.

Laursen, Jens Christian published the artcileIn vivo molecular imaging of cardiac angiogenesis in persons with and without type 2 diabetes: A cross-sectional 68 Ga-RGD-PET study., Recommanded Product: Dodecyl 2-methylacrylate, the main research area is Type 2 diabetes; atherosclerosis; autonomic neuropathy; imaging; kidney disease.

AIMS: To assess cardiac angiogenesis in type 2 diabetes by positron emission tomography (PET) tracer [68 Ga]Ga-NODAGA-E[(cRGDyK)]2 (68 Ga-RGD) imaging. METHODS: Cross-sectional study including 20 persons with type 2 diabetes and 10 non-diabetic controls (CONs). Primary prespecified outcome was difference in cardiac angiogenesis (cardiac 68 Ga-RGD mean target-to-background ratio [TBRmean ]) between type 2 diabetes and CONs. Secondary outcome was to investigate associations between cardiac angiogenesis and kidney function and other risk factors. RESULTS: Participants with type 2 diabetes had a mean ± SD age of 61 ± 9 years, 30% were women, median (IQR) diabetes duration of 11 (6-19) years and 3 (15%) had a history of cardiovascular disease. The CONs had comparable age and sex distribution to the participants with type 2 diabetes, and none had a history of coronary artery disease. Myocardial flow reserve was lower in type 2 diabetes (2.7 ± 0.6) compared with CONs (3.4 ± 1.2) ( p  = 0.03) and coronary artery calcium score was higher (562 [142-905] vs. 1 [0-150] p  = 0.04). Cardiac 68 Ga-RGD TBRmean was similar in participants with type 2 diabetes (0.89 ± 0.09) and CONs (0.89 ± 0.10) ( p  = 0.92). Cardiac 68 Ga-RGD TBRmean was not associated with estimated glomerular filtration rate, urine albumin creatinine ratio, cardiovascular disease, coronary artery calcium score or baroreflex sensitivity, neither in pooled analyses nor in type 2 diabetes. CONCLUSIONS: Cardiac angiogenesis, evaluated with 68 Ga-RGD PET, was similar in type 2 diabetes and CONs. Cardiac angiogenesis was not associated with kidney function or other risk markers in pooled analyses or in analyses restricted to type 2 diabetes.

For the first time, the possibility of using vine-shoots as enol. additives, similar to oak chips, is proposed. Their volatile and phenolic compounds contribution to a model wine was studied. Variables such as vine-shoot vinifera (Aireń and Cencibel), size (chip and granule), toasting (toasted and non-toasted), dosage (4 and 12 g/L) and maceration time (1, 7, 21, 35 and 120 days) were tested. Results showed an important transference of high-value enol. compounds after 35 days of maceration with 12 g/L of toasted vine-shoots. Vanillin or guaiacol were found in concentrations always higher than their wine odor thresholds, depending on the variety and vine-shoot formats used. Moreover, trans-resveratrol and ellagic acid stand out for their high concentrations This transference rate shows the enol. aptitude of vine-shoots with a possibly pos. contribution in real wines, both at sensory and functional level, although future studies in real wines must be carried out.

Lindholm, Annelie’s team published research in PLoS One in 2022 | CAS: 123-29-5

PLoS One published new progress in CAplus and MEDLINE about 123-29-5, 123-29-5 belongs to class esters-buliding-blocks, name is Ethyl nonanoate, and the molecular formula is C11H22O2, Quality Control of 123-29-5.

Lindholm, Annelie published the artcileEarly rapid weight gain, parental body mass index and the association with an increased waist-to-height ratio at 5 years of age, Quality Control of 123-29-5, the main research area is .

Background/Objectives: Obesity-related adverse health consequences are closely associated with abdominal obesity. Risk factors for overweight and obesity have been studied but there is a lack of information regarding risk factors for abdominal obesity, especially in the preschool population. The aim of the present study was to examine early life risk factors for an increased waist-to-height ratio (WHtR) in children at five years of age and, in addition, to investigate if these risk factors also were associated with overweight or obesity. Subjects/Methods: The study population comprised 1,540 children from a population-based longitudinal birth cohort study that included 2,666 Swedish children. The children were included if they had complete growth data for the analyses used in this study. Children were classified as having WHtR standard deviation scores (SDS) ≥ 1 or < 1 at five years of age, according to Swedish reference values, and as having body mass index standard deviation scores (BMISDS) for overweight/obesity, or normal weight/underweight according to the International Obesity Task Force criteria. Associations between child-related, socioeconomic status-related, parental health-related and nutrition- and feeding practice-related factors during the first two years and a WHtRSDS ≥ 1 or a BMISDS for overweight/obesity at five years were investigated with logistic regression analyses. Results: At five years of age, 15% of the children had WHtRSDS ≥ 1 and 11% had overweight or obesity. In multivariable analyses, rapid weight gain (RWG) during 0-6 mo (OR: 1.90, 95% CI: 1.23-2.95, p = 0.004), maternal pre-pregnancy BMI (1.06, 1.01-1.11, p = 0.019) and paternal BMI (1.11, 1.01-1.21, p = 0.028) were associated with WHtRSDS ≥ 1. RWG during 0-6 mo (2.53, 1.53-4.20, p<0.001), 6-12 mo (2.82, 1.37-5.79, p = 0.005), and maternal pre-pregnancy BMI (1.11, 1.06-1.17, p<0.001) were associated with overweight or obesity. Conclusions: Early risk factors, including rapid weight gain, are associated with increased WHtRSDS and overweight or obesity at 5 years of age. Preventive interventions should target early RWG and parental overweight and obesity. Jun, Gwang Soo published the artcileA comparison of intravascular and surface cooling devices for targeted temperature management after out-of-hospital cardiac arrest: A nationwide observational study., Computed Properties of 142-90-5, the main research area is .

This study aimed to compare prognostic difference between intravascular cooling devices (ICDs) and surface cooling devices (SCDs) in targeted temperature management (TTM) recipients.Adult TTM recipients using ICD or SCD during 2012 to 2016 were included in this nationwide observational study. The outcome was survival to hospital discharge and good neurological outcome at hospital discharge.Among 142,905 out-of-hospital cardiac arrest patients, 1159 patients (SCD, n = 998; ICD, n = 161) were investigated. After propensity score matching for all patients, 161 matched pairs of patients were available for analysis (SCD, n = 161; ICD, n = 161). We observed no significant differences in the survival to hospital discharge (SCD, n = 144 [89.4%] vs ICD, n = 150 [93.2%], P = .32) and the good neurological outcomes (SCD, n = 86 [53.4%] vs ICD, n = 91 [56.5%], P = .65). TTM recipients were categorized by age groups (elderly [age >65 years] vs nonelderly [age ≤65 years]) to compare prognostic difference between ICD and SCD according to the age groups. In the nonelderly group, the use of ICD or SCD was not a significant factor for survival to hospital discharge or good neurologic outcome. Whereas, the use of ICD was significantly associated with good neurological outcome (odds ratio, 3.97; 95% confidence interval, 1.19 – 13.23, P = .02) compared with SCD in the elderly group. There were no significant differences in the survival to hospital discharge and the good neurological outcomes between SCD and ICD recipients. However, the use of ICD might be more beneficial than SCD in elderly patients.

Markellos, Christos published the artcileOlive oil intake and cancer risk: A systematic review and meta-analysis, Recommanded Product: Methyl docosanoate, the main research area is .

Background: Research evidence has established the beneficial effects of diet in cancer prevention; various epidemiol. studies have suggested that olive oil component could play a role in decreasing cancer risk. This systematic review and meta-anal. aims to investigate the association between olive oil consumption, cancer risk and prognosis. Methods: A systematic search was conducted in PubMed, EMBASE and Google Scholar databases (end-of-search: May 10, 2020). Pooled relative risk (RR) and 95% confidence intervals (95% CIs) were estimated with random-effects (DerSimonian-Laird) models. Subgroup analyses, sensitivity analyses and meta-regression anal. were also performed. Results: 45 studies were included in the meta-anal.; 37 were case-control (17,369 cases and 28,294 controls) and 8 were cohort studies (12,461 incident cases in a total cohort of 929,771 subjects). Highest olive oil consumption was associated with 31% lower likelihood of any cancer (pooled RR = 0.69, 95%CI: 0.62-0.77), breast (RR = 0.67, 95%CI: 0.52-0.86), gastrointestinal (RR = 0.77, 95%CI: 0.66-0.89), upper aerodigestive (RR = 0.74, 95%CI: 0.60-0.91) and urinary tract cancer (RR = 0.46, 95%CI: 0.29-0.72). Significant overall effects spanned both Mediterranean and non-Mediterranean participants, studies presenting a multivariate and a univariate anal. and all subgroups by study quality. Conclusions: Olive oil consumption seems to exert beneficial actions in terms of cancer prevention. Addnl. prospective cohort studies on various cancer types and survivors, as well as large randomized trials, seem desirable.

Auer, Michael published the artcileSoluble Vascular Cell Adhesion Molecule-1 (sVCAM-1) and Natalizumab Serum Concentration as Potential Biomarkers for Pharmacodynamics and Treatment Response of Patients with Multiple Sclerosis Receiving Natalizumab., Category: esters-buliding-blocks, the main research area is .

BACKGROUND: Natalizumab (NTZ) is an established treatment for highly active, relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis. In the context of rare progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy and extended interval dosing as a treatment option, biomarkers for treatment monitoring are required. Natalizumab serum concentration (NTZ SC) and soluble vascular cell adhesion molecule 1 (sVCAM-1) concentration were shown to change on treatment with NTZ. We aimed to investigate whether NTZ SC and sVCAM-1 could be suitable pharmacodynamic markers and whether they could predict disease activity on NTZ, improving the concept of personalized multiple sclerosis treatment. METHODS: In a retrospective study at the Medical University of Innsbruck, Austria, we identified patients treated with NTZ and chose samples longitudinally collected during routine follow-ups for the measurement of NTZ SC and sVCAM-1 by an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. We correlated these with clinical and demographic variables and clinical outcomes. Furthermore, we analyzed the stability of NTZ SC and sVCAM-1 during treatment. RESULTS: One hundred and thirty-seven patients were included. We found a strong negative correlation between NTZ SC and sVCAM-1. Both showed significant associations with body mass index, infusion interval, sample age, and anti-drug-antibodies. Natalizumab serum concentration was reduced in extended interval dosing, but not sVCAM-1. Only sVCAM-1 showed a weak association with relapses during treatment, while there was no association with disease progression. Both NTZ SC and sVCAM-1 showed a wide inter-individual distribution while levels in single patients were stable on treatment. CONCLUSIONS: Soluble vascular cell adhesion molecule 1 is a suitable pharmacodynamic marker during treatment with NTZ, which is significantly reduced already after the first dose, remains stable in individual patients even on extended interval dosing, and strongly correlates with NTZ SC. Because of the high inter-individual range, absolute levels of sVCAM-1 and NTZ SC are difficult to introduce as treatment monitoring biomarkers in order to predict disease activity in single patients.
