Chemical Communications (Cambridge, United Kingdom) published new progress about Alkynes, aryl Role: RCT (Reactant), RACT (Reactant or Reagent). 914943-91-2 belongs to class esters-buliding-blocks, name is tert-Butyl 3-ethynylbenzoate, and the molecular formula is C13H14O2, Synthetic Route of 914943-91-2.

Li, Yiming published the artcileVisible-light-promoted oxidative halogenation of alkynes, Synthetic Route of 914943-91-2, the main research area is alkyne oxidative halogenation visible light.

In nature, halogenation promotes the biol. activity of secondary metabolites, especially geminal dihalogenation. Related natural mols. were studied for decades. In recent years, their diversified vital activities were explored for treating various diseases, which call for efficient and divergent synthetic strategies to facilitate drug discovery. Here the authors report a catalyst-free oxidative halogenation achieved under ambient conditions (halide ion, air, water, visible light, room temperature, and normal pressure). Constitutionally, electron transfer between the oxygen and halide ion is shuttled via simple conjugated mols., in which phenylacetylene works as both reactant and catalyst. Synthetically, it provides a highly compatible late-stage transformation strategy to build up dihaloacetophenones (DHAPs).

Kumaravel, Sakthivel published the artcileRu/TiO2 nanostructured catalysts: synthesis, characterization and catalytic activity towards hydrogenation of ethyl levulinate, Product Details of C7H12O3, the main research area is ruthenium titania ethyl levulinate catalyst hydrogenation nanostructure.

Pristine TiO2 and x% Ru/TiO2 catalysts with different weight% of Ru (x%= 1.5%, 2%, 2.5% and 3%) were synthesized using sol-gel and simple impregnation methods. Different characterization techniques such as X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform IR spectroscopy (FT-IR), SEM (SEM), High-resolution transmission electron microscope (HR-TEM), Inductively coupled plasma-optical emission spectrometry (ICP-OES) and Thermogravimetry/DTA (TG/DTA) were used to study the physicochem. and morphol. properties. The XRD patterns of the as-prepared pristine TiO2 catalyst showed high crystalline nature. The HR-TEM images revealed that the Ru nanoparticles (NPs) were evenly dispersed on the TiO2 surface. The prepared catalysts were evaluated for their catalytic activity towards the liquid phase hydrogenation of Et levulinate under mild reaction conditions (ambient H2 pressure). Among the various catalysts, 2.5% Ru/TiO2 catalyst showed the maximum catalytic activity of 79% Et levulinate (EL) conversion with 82% selectivity of γ-valerolactone (GVL). The recyclability test revealed that the most active 2.5% Ru/TiO2 also showed the highest stability of the catalyst under optimized exptl. conditions.

Zhang, Yihan’s team published research in Materials Advances in 2020 | CAS: 140-11-4

Materials Advances published new progress about Benzaldehydes Role: RCT (Reactant), RACT (Reactant or Reagent). 140-11-4 belongs to class esters-buliding-blocks, name is Benzyl acetate, and the molecular formula is C9H10O2, Category: esters-buliding-blocks.

Zhang, Yihan published the artcileZinc-triggered photocatalytic selective synthesis of benzyl acetate on inverse spinel CuFe2O4 3D networks: a case of coupled redox photocatalytic reaction, Category: esters-buliding-blocks, the main research area is benzyl acetate preparation DFT; benzaldehyde zinc triggered copper iron oxide photocatalyst coupled redox.

Herein, a Zn-doped CuFe2O4 3D network for the coupled redox photocatalytic (CRP) reaction to generate benzyl acetates I [R = Ph, 4-MeC6H4, 4-ClC6H4, etc.] with high selectivity was developed. The ammonia assisted sol-gel method helped to improve the sp. surface area of inverse spinel CuFe2O4 and therefore the concentration of oxygen vacancies. With an optimized doping content of 0.5%, Zn-doped CuFe2O4 presented a photocurrent as high as 34.72μA cm-2, which indicated that Zn-doping largely boosted the charge separation efficiency in accordance with the surface photovoltage measurement. Most importantly, in the CRP reaction, zinc triggered the selectivity of benzaldehyde to benzyl acetate from 2.97% to 74.80%. D. functional theory (DFT) calculations further revealed that zinc doping enhanced the adsorption energy of the intermediate product of acetone in CuFe2O4-based CRP reaction leading to enhanced activity and selectivity.
