A new triazole-functionalized tetracarboxylic acid ligand (H4L) has been synthesized and utilized for the fabrication of a 3D Zn-II organic framework with a Zn-4(-COO)(6) cluster as the secondary building unit. The framework exhibits very good thermal stability and consists of dual functionalities of exposed Lewis acidic metal sites and accessible nitrogen-donor Lewis basic sites. The Lewis basic nitrogen sites in the framework serve as CO2 binding sites for highly selective CO2 capture and the presence of exposed Lewis acidic metal sites in the framework make it an efficient heterogeneous catalyst for the chemical fixation of CO2 into value-added cyclic carbonates under ambient conditions.

Three novel flexible sulfur-containing MOF materials named Co-URJC-5, Cu-URJC-6 and Zn-URJC-7, based on the 5,5′-thiodiisophthalic acid linker have been synthesized through solvothermal methods and characterized by different physicochemical techniques. Hydrogen adsorption analysis at room temperature reveals that these compounds display a gate-opening type adsorption mechanism at low pressures, attributed to the flexible nature of the H4TBTC ligand. This behavior is even more noticeable for Cu-URJC-6, since the layer arrangement by p-p stacking interactions between the aromatic layers could contribute to the flexibility of the structure. These results can be considered as a representative example to elucidate how MOF structures are built using flexible ligands and more significantly as a promising route for designing materials with selective gas sorption properties.

In this study, the unique capacity of bifunctional BrOnsted bases to generate alpha-branched ketone dienolates and control both site- and stereoselectivity of their addition reactions to representative classes of carbon electrophiles (i.e., vinyl sulfones, nitroolefins, formaldehyde) is documented. We demonstrate that by using selected chiral tertiary amine/squaramide catalysts, the reactions of beta,gamma-unsaturated cycloalkanones proceed through the dienolate C alpha almost exclusively and provide all-carbon quaternary cyclic ketone adducts in good yields with very high enantioselectivities. A minor amount (<5%) of gamma-addition is observed when nitroolefins are used as electrophiles. The parent acyclic ketone dienolates proved to be less reactive under these conditions, and thus still constitute a challenging class of substrates. Quantum chemical calculations correctly predict these differences in reactivity and explain the observed site-specificity and enantioselectivity. SDS of cas: 99-27-4. In order to discover more potent antifungal, a series of 2-aryl-3,4-dihydroisoquinolin-2-iums were reasonable designed and productive synthesized by introducing benzoic acid and phenol pharmacophores into the 2-position of isoquinoline. Their structures were identified by NMR and HRMS. The preliminary in vitro antifungal results showed that most of the title compounds exhibited moderate to significant inhibitory activities against various phytopathogenic fungi at 50 mu g.mL(-1), and were equal to controls (chlorothalonil, carbendazim). The concentration of 50% inhibition rate (EC50]) of 2-(3-ethoxycarbonyl-phenyl)-3,4-dihydroisoquinolin-2-ium (4j) against R. solani was 3.8495 mu g.mL(-1), which was significantly superior to chlorothalonil (4.6328 mu g.mL(-1)). All the EC50 values of 5 compounds (7.4583 similar to 15.4495 mu g.mL(-1)) against R. cerealis were better than chlorothalonil (16.0137 mu g.mL(-1)), and 2-(4-methoxycarbonylphenyl)-3,4-dihydroisoquinolin-2-ium (4f) is the best one. The present results provide valuable information for development of plant-based antifungal agents.

Lipid migration is widespread in food system and has an important effect on food quality. It is urgent to explore the lipid migration in egg yolk after heating. The content of lipids in upper part (HL) was higher than that in bottom part (LL), and the lipids migration in yolk gel under heating were confirmed by MRI (T1) and T2 relaxation time of LF-NMR. Subsequently, the XDR result demonstrated the high lipid content induced the decrease in crystallinity of protein in HL part. The structures of HL part trend to be more ordered, stable (beta-sheet & beta-turns) and flat (alpha-helices) than LL part, also, more water distributed in LL part were observed by FTIR spectrum. The SEM results revealed that lipids migrated from LL to HL part, eventually lead to the protein in HL part of heated yolk gel unfold, the globular structure collapsed and become flatter. Morever, ethyl acetate, hexanal, etc. and hexanal, ethyl acetate, dimethyl-silanediol, etc. were identified as the main VOCs of LL and HL part of heated yolk gel, respectively. Lipid migration result in more lipid-specific volatiles were formed in the HL part, such as hexanal, 3-hydroxy-cyclohexanone, 2-pentyl-furan, D-limonene, 2-ethyl-1-hexanol, benzeneacetaldehyde. Lipid migration in heated yolk gel, caused by heat treatment, resulted in the changes of structure and flavor between HL and LL part.

Herein, two novel isostructural metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) M-URJC-4 (M = Co, Ni; URJC = Universidad Rey Juan Carlos) with open metal sites, permanent microposity, and large surface areas and pore volumes have been developed. These novel MOFs, with polyhedral morphology, crystallize in the monoclinic P2(1)/c space group, exhibiting a three-dimensional structure with microporous channels along the c axis. Initially, they were fully characterized and tested in hydrogen (H-2) adsorption at different conditions of temperature and pressure. The physisorption capacities of both materials surpassed the gravimetric H-2 uptake shown by most MOF materials under the same conditions. On the basis of the outstanding adsorption properties, the Ni-URJC-4 material was used as a catalyst in a one-pot reductive amination reaction using various carbonyl compounds and primary amines. A possible chemical pathway to obtain secondary amines was proposed via imine formation, and remarkable performances were accomplished. This work evidences the dual ability of M-URJC-4 materials to be used as a H-2 adsorbent and a catalyst in reductive amination reactions, activating molecular H-2 at low pressures for the reduction of C=N double bonds and providing reference structural features for the design of new versatile heterogeneous materials for industrial application.

We report a robust and rigid etb-type metal-organic framework, in which its pore surface is decorated with flexible ethoxyl groups. It shows unprecedentedly selective adsorption of acetone (E-N(T) value of 0.355, kinetic diameter of 4.6 angstrom) over methanol (E-N(T) value of 0.762, kinetic diameter of 3.6 angstrom) for their azeotropic mixture.

Recently, He et al. reported that CCKB receptors located in the neocortex of the brain when bound to their bound natural ligand, CCK peptides, enhance memory, bringing up the possibility that agonists targeting the CCKB receptor may act as therapeutic agents in diseases in which memory loss is marked as observed in dementia and Alzheimer’s. In this report, we describe the synthesis of novel low-molecular weight benzoamine CCKB receptor agonists. The compounds made in this series were determined to be mostly partial agonists, although some antagonists were identified, as well, capable of triggering calcium release in a cell line that overexpresses the CCKB receptor. Compound 35 demonstrated an EC50 of 0.15 mu M in the cell-based assay, but more importantly, several of the compounds, including 35, demonstrated a physiological effect, inducing long-term potentiation in rat brains comparable to the CCK-8 peptide albeit at much higher concentrations. Based on these findings, benzoamines may be the basis for a new series of CCKB receptor agonists in drug-discovery efforts that seek to develop therapeutics to prevent memory loss.
