Xiao, Ouli published the artcileInfluence of triazole pesticides on wine flavor and quality based on multidimensional analysis technology, COA of Formula: C17H34O2, the main research area is wine triazole pesticide flavor food quality; fermentation; flavor components; sensory analysis; triazole pesticides; wine.

Triazole pesticides are widely used to control grapevine diseases. In this study, we investigated the impact of three triazole pesticides-triadimefon, tebuconazole, and paclobutrazol-on the concentrations of wine aroma compounds All three triazole pesticides significantly affected the ester and acid aroma components. Among them, paclobutrazol exhibited the greatest neg. influence on the wine aroma quality through its effect on the ester and acid aroma substances, followed by tebuconazole and triadimefon. Qual. and quant. anal. by solid-phase micro-extraction gas chromatog. coupled with mass spectrometry revealed that the triazole pesticides also changed the flower and fruit flavor component contents of the wines. This was attributed to changes in the yeast fermentation activity caused by the pesticide residues. The study reveals that triazole pesticides neg. impact on the volatile composition of wines with a potential undesirable effect on wine quality, underlining the desirability of stricter control by the food industry over pesticide residues in winemaking.

Food and Chemical Toxicology published new progress about Antioxidants. 41114-00-5 belongs to class esters-buliding-blocks, name is Ethyl pentadecanoate, and the molecular formula is C17H34O2, Name: Ethyl pentadecanoate.

Gavril, Georgiana-Luminita published the artcileInfluence of medicinal and aromatic plants into risk assessment of a new bioactive packaging based on polylactic acid (PLA), Name: Ethyl pentadecanoate, the main research area is Melissa Salvia leaf bioactive packaging polylactic acid; Active packaging; Lemon balm; Migration; Polylactic acid; Risk assessment; Sage.

A new biodegradable antioxidant active packaging for food applications based on antioxidants from medicinal and aromatic plants incorporated into a polylactic acid matrix was designed and developed. Melt blending processing technique was applied to prepare polylactic acid films loaded by sage and lemon balm leaves. Antioxidant properties of developed active films were investigated using the following methods- 2,2′-azino-bis(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid), 2,2-diphenyl-1-(2,4,6-trinitrophenyl)hydrazyl and a home-made generator of hydroxyl radicals. In addition, reducing power and total phenolic content of polylactic acid films were checked. The results of antioxidant capacity showed that percentage of hydroxylation for active film with lemon balm and sage was 55.5% ± 0.1% and 67.4% ± 0.3%, resp. The reducing power of active films increased 8 times in comparison to the blank samples. Moreover, extensive investigation of influence of sage and lemon balm leaves on material safety and type of migrants was performed using migration assays. The composition of both non-volatile and volatile compounds of different active packaging films was compared with neat polylactic acid film. Three different food simulants such as 95% (volume/volume) ethanol, 10% (volume/volume) ethanol and 3% (w/v) acetic acid were checked. It was shown that the addition of sage and lemon balm leaves into a polylactic acid structure decreased the migration of both linear and cyclic polylactic acid oligomers, currently not legislated by European Union. Besides, total absence or decrease of migration of volatile compounds were observed when using the active films. Both thermal and mech. properties of films were also evaluated.

Ruiperez, Violeta published the artcileContinuous malolactic fermentation of red wine in a reactor using silica-alginate encapsulated Oenococcus oeni, Product Details of C17H34O2, the main research area is Oenococcus oeni encapsulation red wine malolactic fermentation reactor.

Malolactic fermentation (MLF) is a challenging and time-consuming step in the winemaking process. The effects of climate change are making the intrinsic conditions in red wine more challenging for the growth of lactic acid bacteria through interfering with a prompt and effective MLF. However, this is a necessary process in red wine production that contributes to high quality of wine demanded by consumers. Previous studies in our group reported a highly efficient MLF of red wine by using encapsulated Oenococcus oeni. Here, we designed a bench-scale packed-bed reactor using encapsulated bacteria to facilitate and speed up this process. The time to complete MLF was reduced as the concentration of biocapsules increased. The system exhibited operational stability and efficiency in sequential batches of wine recirculated through the column. Furthermore, an efficient continuous MLF was achieved using the packed-bed reactor. In general, a slight reduction in the concentration of some volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in the wines from the continuous system was observed as compared to those from the recirculated system.

Ganoderma neo-japonicum is a well-known medicinal mushroom in Asian countries. However, scientific validations on its curative activities are confined to cirrhosis and diabetes. In this study, the anticancer properties of G. neo-japonicum were evaluated using cellular and computational models. The ethanolic extract (EtOH) with a promising inhibitory effect was fractionated into four different fractions: hexane (Hex), chloroform (Chl), butanol (Btn), and aqueous (Aq). The active fractions were then subjected to cell apoptosis assessment and phytochem. profiling. Mol. docking was conducted to elucidate the affinity of selected constituents towards antiapoptotic Bcl-2 protein. The butanol fraction showed the highest antioxidant activities as well as total phenolic content. Both hexane and chloroform fractions exerted a potent cytotoxic effect on colonic carcinoma cells through the induction of apoptosis. Phytochem. anal. revealed that the chloroform fraction is terpenoid enriched whereas the hexane fraction comprises predominantly sterol constituents. Stellasterol and 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3 3-glycoside were demonstrated to have a high affinity towards Bcl-2 protein. Overall, G. neo-japonicum can be considered as a compelling therapeutic candidate for cancer treatment.
