Quality Control of 3-(Methoxycarbonyl)benzoic acidOn November 5, 2021 ,《Cobalt-Catalyzed Deprotection of Allyl Carboxylic Esters Induced by Hydrogen Atom Transfer》 appeared in Organic Letters. The author of the article were Li, Nan; Gui, Yizhen; Chu, Mengqi; You, Mengdi; Qiu, Xiaohan; Liu, Hejia; Wang, Shiang; Deng, Meng; Ji, Baoming. The article conveys some information:

A brief, efficient method has been developed for the removal of the allyl protecting group from allyl carboxylic esters RC(O)OCH2CH=CH2 (R = cyclohexyl, Ph, thiophen-2-yl, 2H-1,3-benzodioxol-5-yl, etc.) using a Co(II)/TBHP/(Me2SiH)2O catalytic system. This facile strategy displays excellent chemoselectivity, functional group tolerance, and high yields. This transformation probably occurs through the hydrogen atom transfer process, and a Co(III)-six-membered cyclic intermediate is recommended. The results came from multiple reactions, including the reaction of 3-(Methoxycarbonyl)benzoic acid(cas: 1877-71-0Quality Control of 3-(Methoxycarbonyl)benzoic acid)

The article was titled 《Development of a bestatin-SAHA hybrid with dual inhibitory activity against APN and HDAC》. The information in the text is summarized as follows:

With five histone deacetylase (HDAC) inhibitors approved for cancer treatment, proteolysis-targeting chimeras (PROTACs) for degradation of HDAC are emerging as an alternative strategy for HDAC-targeted therapeutic intervention. Herein, three bestatin-based hydroxamic acids (P1, P2 and P3) were designed, synthesized and biol. evaluated to see if they could work as HDAC degrader by recruiting cellular inhibitor of apoptosis protein 1 (cIAP1) E3 ubiquitin ligase. Among the three compounds, the bestatin-SAHA hybrid P1 exhibited comparable even more potent inhibitory activity against HDAC1, HDAC6 and HDAC8 relative to the approved HDAC inhibitor SAHA. It is worth noting that although P1 could not lead to intracellular HDAC degradation after 6 h of treatment, it could dramatically decrease the intracellular levels of HDAC1, HDAC6 and HDAC8 after 24 h of treatment. Intriguingly, the similar phenomenon was also observed in the HDAC inhibitor SAHA. Cotreatment with proteasome inhibitor bortezomib could not reverse the HDAC decreasing effects of P1 and SAHA, confirming that their HDAC decreasing effects were not due to protein degradation Moreover, all three bestatin-based hydroxamic acids P1, P2 and P3 exhibited more potent aminopeptidase N (APN, CD13) inhibitory activities than the approved APN inhibitor bestatin, which translated to their superior anti-angiogenic activities. Taken together, a novel bestatin-SAHA hybrid was developed, which worked as a potent APN and HDAC dual inhibitor instead of a PROTAC. The article was titled 《Late-Stage Functionalization of Aromatic Acids with Aliphatic Aziridines: Direct Approach to Form β-Branched Arylethylamine Backbones》.HPLC of Formula: 1877-71-0 The article contains the following contents:

A palladium-catalyzed carboxylic acid-directed cross-coupling of an ortho-C(sp2) atom of aromatic acids with aliphatic aziridines to construct the β-arylethylamine skeleton via C-H activation was developed. The reaction proceeded under mild conditions with great substrate scope. Meanwhile, the β-arylethylamine skeleton in drugs or bioactive compounds could be easily generated in a single step. A catalytic amount of cesium carbonate was crucial to realizing the selective β-arylethylamine synthesis. The article was 《Menaquinone Biosynthesis: New Strategies to Trap Radical Intermediates in the MqnE-Catalyzed Reaction》. The article mentions the following:

Aminofutalosine synthase (MqnE) is a radical SAM enzyme that catalyzes the conversion of 3-((1-carboxyvinyl)oxy)benzoic acid to aminofutalosine during the futalosine-dependent menaquinone biosynthesis. In this Communication, the authors report the trapping of a radical intermediate in the MqnE-catalyzed reaction using sodium dithionite, mol. oxygen, or 5,5-dimethyl-1-pyrroline-N-oxide. A Ru-catalyzed selective and atom-economic ortho-C-H allylation of aromatic acids with vinylcyclopropanes is reported. The reaction proceeds with selective cleavage of both a C-H and a C-C bond. A wide range of allylarenes were synthesized in high yields and stereoselectivities. The vinylcyclopropane substrates can optionally be generated in situ from a diazo compound and 1,3-butadiene. 2,2′-Biaryldicarboxylates are important functionalities in bioactive compounds, functional materials, and chiral catalysts. These compounds have been found to be conveniently accessible from benzoic acids via Rh-catalyzed electrooxidative C-H/C-H couplings, giving valuable dihydrogen as the byproduct. In an undivided cell with Pt electrodes, RhCl3·3H2O catalyzes the oxidative carboxylate-directed ortho-homocoupling of various aromatic acids with a current efficiency of 67%. The protocol is operationally simple, tolerates a wide variety of functional groups, and does not require the exclusion of air and moisture. Heterodimerizations via cross-dehydrogenative couplings of naphthyl-1-carboxylic acids with acrylic or benzoic acids were also shown to work. The quantum mech. calculable Q descriptor is shown to be a potent quantifier of chem. reactivity in complex mols. – it shows a strong correlation to exptl. derived field effects in non-aromatic substrates and Hammett σm and σp parameters. Models for predicting substituent effects from Q are presented and applied, including on the elusive pentazolyl substituent. The presented approach enables fast computational estimation of substituent effects, and, in extension, medium-throughput screening of mols. and compound design. An exptl. dataset is suggested as a candidate benchmark for aiding the general development and comparison of electronic structure analyses. It is here used to evaluate the exptl. quantum chem. Nickel-catalyzed reductive carboxylation reactions of aryl electrophiles typically require the use of metallic reducing agents. At present, the prevailing perception is that these serve as both a source of electrons and as a source of Lewis acids that may aid CO2 insertion into the Ni-C bond. Herein, we provide evidence for the in situ formation of organometallic species from the metallic reductant, a step that has either been ruled out or has been unexplored in catalytic carboxylation reactions with metal powder reductants. Specifically, we demonstrate that Zn(0) acts as a reductant and that Zn(II) generates arylzinc species that might play a role in the C(sp2)-S carboxylation of arylsulfonium salts. Overall, the reductive Ni-catalyzed C(sp2)-S carboxylation reaction proceeds under mild conditions in a non-amide solvent, displays a wide substrate scope, and can be applied to the formal para C-H carboxylation of arenes.
