Methyl nonadecanoate (cas: 1731-94-8) belongs to esters. Esters perform as high-grade solvents for a broad array of plastics, plasticizers, resins, and lacquers, and are one of the largest classes of synthetic lubricants on the commercial market. Polyesters are important plastics, with monomers linked by ester moieties. Many esters have the potential for conformational isomerism, but they tend to adopt an s-cis (or Z) conformation rather than the s-trans (or E) alternative, due to a combination of hyperconjugation and dipole minimization effects. The preference for the Z conformation is influenced by the nature of the substituents and solvent, if present. Lactones with small rings are restricted to the s-trans (i.e. E) conformation due to their cyclic structure.Formula: C20H40O2

Enzymatic production of biodiesel from insect fat using methyl acetate as an acyl acceptor: Optimization by using response surface methodology was written by Nguyen, Hoang Chinh;Liang, Shih-Hsiang;Chen, Shang-Sian;Su, Chia-Hung;Lin, Jhih-Huei;Chien, Chien-Chung. Black soldier fly larvae (BSFL) are oleaginous insects that can assimilate organic waste for fat accumulation, and thus serve as an alternative feedstock for biodiesel production In lipase-catalyzed transesterification, enzymes are deactivated by excess methanol. To address this obstacle, Me acetate is suggested as an alternative acyl acceptor to methanol. In this study, Me acetate was first used in the enzymic production of biodiesel with BSFL as a triglyceride source. The interesterification of BSFL fat with Me acetate was catalyzed using Novozym 435 as an efficient immobilized lipase. Response surface methodol. was used to optimize the reaction and establish a reliable math. model for prediction. A maximum biodiesel yield of 96.97% was reached at a reaction time of 12 h, molar ratio of Me acetate to fat of 14.64: 1, enzyme loading of 17.58%, and temperature of 39.5 °C. Under these optimal reaction conditions, Novozym 435 could be reused for up to 20 cycles without loss in enzyme activity. The properties of BSFL biodiesel were also investigated and all met the European standard EN 14214. This study indicates that the enzymic interesterification of BSFL fat with Me acetate is a promising and ecofriendly method for green fuel production This study involved multiple reactions and reactants, such as Methyl nonadecanoate (cas: 1731-94-8Formula: C20H40O2).

Mixing food waste and microalgae to simultaneously improve biodiesel production through transesterification and bio-crude production through hydrothermal liquefaction was written by Cheng, Jun;Qiu, Yi;Zhang, Ze;Guo, Hao;Yang, Weijuan;Zhou, Junhu. And the article was included in Journal of Biobased Materials and Bioenergy in 2020.Recommanded Product: Methyl nonadecanoate The following contents are mentioned in the article:

In this study, food waste was mixed with microalgal biomass to regulate the C:N ratio in order to not only promote biodiesel production from lipids through transesterification during the first stage but also bio-crude production from carbohydrates and proteins through hydrothermal liquefaction during the second stage. The cytoplasms of microalgal biomass, which reduces polarity differences between lipids and the methanol reactant, improved transesterification reactions of lipids in food waste, thereby promoting biodiesel production by 13.3%. The optimized Maillard reactions between the carbohydrates and proteins (C:N ratio = 6.2) promoted bio-crude production from the biomass residue by 13.0% after biodiesel extraction The highest weight ratio of biodiesel (with a higher heating value of 41.0 MJ/kg) through the transesterification reaction to dry feedstock (composed of microalgae and food waste with an optimized weight ratio of 1:1) was obtained at 23.2% (weight). GC-MS, FTIR and NMR were applied to analyze the physicochem. properties of bio-crude produced via hydrothermal liquefaction. A high-weight ratio of bio-crude (Higher heating value: 35.1 MJ/kg) to biomass residue after biodiesel extraction was achieved at 15.5% (weight). Fatty acid (FA) composition of suet oil (SO) was measured by precolumn methylesterification (PME) optimized using a Box-Behnken design (BBD) and gas chromatog./electron ionization-quadrupole mass spectrometry (GC-EI-qMS). A spectral library (NIST 08) and standard compounds were used to identify FAs in SO representing 90.89% of the total peak area. The ten most abundant FAs were derivatized into FA Me esters (FAMEs) and quantified by GC-EI-qMS; the correlation coefficient of each FAME was 0.999 and the lowest concentration quantified was 0.01 μg/mL. The range of recovery of the FAMEs was 82.1%-8.7% (relative standard deviation 2.2%-.8%). The limits of quantification (LOQ) were 1.25-.95 μg/L. The number of carbon atoms in the FAs identified ranged from 12 to 20; hexadecanoic and octadecanoic acids were the most abundant. Eighteen samples of SO purchased from Qinghai, Anhui and Jiangsu provinces of China were categorized into three groups by principal component anal. (PCA) according to the contents of the most abundant FAs. The results showed SOs samples were rich in FAs with significantly different profiles from different origins. The method described here can be used for quality control and SO differentiation on the basis of the FA profile. Pitaya is rich in nutrition and unique in function and contains vegetable albumin, anthocyanins, rich vitamins, and water soluble dietary fiber, which are rare in fruits and vegetables. However, researches mostly focused on pitaya cultivation, biol. characteristics, fresh-keeping, and lacked analyses about chem. composition of pitaya. Therefore, ethanol extraction and GC/MS were used to extract and identify the bioactive components in pulp and pericarp of red pitaya and white pitaya. The extracting results showed that percentages of ethanol extracts from pulp and pericarp of red pitaya were 14.5% and 12%, whereas those of white pitaya were 16% and 12%. The GC/MS results showed that different kinds of bioactive constituents were identified in fresh pericarp and pulp of red pitaya and white pitaya. In the four ethanol extracts, there are rich polysiloxane plant organosilicon with total contents of 10.09%, 24.21%, 25.77%, and 23.25%. Meanwhile, there are many heterocyclic substances, and the content of pericarp is much higher than that of pulp. Non-biodegradable plastics polymers, such as low-d. polyethylene (LDPE), polystyrene (PS), and polyvinyl chloride (PVC) are non-biodegradable and release toxic gases into the environment on combustion and after long use. This study includes the screening of a series of organic solvents for solubility parameters of LDPE and PS. The karanja biodiesel is also used as one of the solvents for the dissolution of plastics. In order to decide the best solvent to be used for the dissolution of plastic polymer, rate of dissolution, safety aspect, and cost of the solvent were considered. The solubility factor of LDPE and PS is found to be much closed to acetone, chlorobenzene, and karanja biodiesel. Out of them, karanja biodiesel is considered due to its environment friendly behavior. The output of the study is with three value-added products as high heating value fuel, good composite for low-d. cement, and an oil-adsorbent. Dicationic ionic liquids (DILs) are more and more accepted as a new class of high temperature and polar stationary phases for gas chromatog. (GC). This study deals with the effect of seven different fluorosulfonyl derivatized anions associated with two dications: 1,3-di(3-methylimidazolium)-2-methylpropane [2mC3(mim)2], and 1,3-di(3-methylimidazolium)-isobutene [i-eneC4(mim)2]. Thermophys. properties of the 14 synthesized DILs were evaluated in terms of m.p., viscosity, and thermal stability. The optimal physicochem. properties of 13 DILs allowed preparing 13GC capillary columns. Accordingly, the polarity and selectivity of the DILs were evaluated by determining the Rohrschneider-McReynolds constants and the equivalent chain lengths of C18 fatty acid Me esters (FAMEs). The sym. fluoroalkylsulfonyl and the trifluorosulfonate anions seem to produce the most polar DILs. Compared to classical polyethyleneglycol phases, the DILs showed substantially decreased retention of apolar compounds and a much stronger retention of the polar ones. Unique selectivities were observed with unsaturated FAMEs, polyaromatic hydrocarbons, and bacterial specific FAMEs. The two applications presented included a biodiesel and bacterial FAME analyses. Citrus canker is a quarentenary disease caused by Xanthomonas citri subsp. citri (X. citri). Thus, sanitization of fresh fruit is a necessary measure before any com. activity. Therefore, we evaluated the clove essential oil (CEO), as an alternative sanitizer for the disinfection of citrus fruit in packinghouses. Tests in vitro and in vivo were carried out to determine the cell inhibitory concentration and to verify the efficacy of the oil for the disinfection of citrus fruits. In in vitro tests, CEO was able to inhibit X. citri when used at 0.75% (volume/volume). In experiments that simulate the sanitization process used in packinghouses, 5% CEO was as effective as the recommended sanitization product based on sodium hypochlorite. GC-MS results showed a high presence of eugenol derivatives as the major compounds of CEO. All results proved that CEO is a potential sanitizer that could be used as an alternative to sodium hypochlorite. Novelty impact statement : Exptl. evidence shows that the clove essential oil (CEO) has the same sanitization efficacy as sodium hypochlorite, which makes of CEO an alternative sanitizer for the decontamination of citrus fruits to be exported to the European Union. Designing of a continuous biodiesel production system from waste cooking oil with ultrasonic homogenizer assistant through transesterification reaction was studied. Through some pre-tests based on cavitation phenomenon to accelerate the transesterification reaction, two types of reactors (batch and continuous) were used. GC-MS results showed the total content of 94.2 % of Me esters derived from different fatty acids formed in a batch reactor using a magnetic stirrer and an elec. heater. These results were then compared to those of two ultrasonic homogenizers with low and high capacities of 400 and 1,500 W, which tested successfully under mild conditions. The results indicated the advantages of using ultrasonic homogenizer. The continuous system consisted of a 1,500 W ultrasonic homogenizer and glass helicoidal reactor with a tube length of 20 m. This set-up was kept submerged in a hot water bath. As a result, the reaction time decreased to 150 s, the methanol/oil molar ratio was 8.6 and the weight % of NaOH/oil was 0.5 %. After separation of undesired contents, the phys. and chem. characteristics of the final product were measured according to ASTM standard methods.
