Van den Berg, Otto; Sengers, Wilco G. F.; Jager, Wolter F.; Picken, Stephen J.; Wuebbenhorst, Michael published the artcile< Dielectric and Fluorescent Probes To Investigate Glass Transition, Melt, and Crystallization in Polyolefins>, Safety of (9Z,12Z)-Methyl octadeca-9,12-dienoate, the main research area is dibutylaminonitrostilbene dielec fluorescent probe polymer glass transition; melt crystallization polyolefin dielec fluorescent probe spectroscopy.

Study of glass transition dynamics in polyolefins by broadband dielec. spectroscopy (DRS) is facilitated by the addition of a dielec. probe, 4,4′-(N,N-dibutylamino)-(E)-nitrostilbene (DBANS), which introduces dipoles, i.e., makes the polymers become dielec. active. For probe concentrations between 0.1% and 1.0% the dielec. strength Δε associated with the dynamic glass transition increases proportionally to the probe concentration for LDPE, isotactic polypropylene, and atactic polystyrene. This result indicates that the probe exhibits no intramol. relaxations, and the probe rotational diffusion effectively senses the microviscosity of the probe environment on the length scale of the segmental dynamics. Temperature-dependent fluorescence spectroscopy on doped polymers shows no changes in fluorescence wavelength around the glass transition temperature Crystallization and melting of the polyolefin matrix results in an increase or decrease of the probe concentration in the amorphous phase, which was clearly detected by real-time fluorescence because the probe emission is sensitive to the probe content, particularly at higher probe concentrations

Kramer, Konrad’s team published research in Physiologia Plantarum in 2022-01-31 | 112-63-0

Physiologia Plantarum published new progress about Arabidopsis thaliana. 112-63-0 belongs to class esters-buliding-blocks, and the molecular formula is C19H34O2, HPLC of Formula: 112-63-0.

Kramer, Konrad; Kepp, Gabi; Brock, Judith; Stutz, Simon; Heyer, Arnd G. published the artcile< Acclimation to elevated CO2 affects the C/N balance by reducing de novo N-assimilation>, HPLC of Formula: 112-63-0, the main research area is carbon dioxide de novo nitrogen balance assimilation.

Plants exposed to elevated atm. CO2 concentrations show an increased photosynthetic activity. However, after prolonged exposure, the activity declines. This acclimation to elevated CO2 is accompanied by a rise in the carbon-to-nitrogen ratio of the biomass. Hence, increased sugar accumulation and sequential downregulation of photosynthetic genes, as well as nitrogen depletion and reduced protein content, have been hypothesized as the cause of low photosynthetic performance. However, the reason for reduced nitrogen content in plants at high CO2 is unclear. Here, we show that reduced photorespiration at increased CO2-to-O2 ratio leads to reduced de novo assimilation of nitrate, thus shifting the C/N balance. Metabolic modeling of acclimated and non-acclimated plants revealed the photorespiratory pathway to function as a sink for already assimilated nitrogen during the light period, providing carbon skeletons for de novo assimilation. At high CO2, low photorespiratory activity resulted in diminished nitrogen assimilation and eventually resulted in reduced carbon assimilation. For the hpr1-1 mutant, defective in reduction of hydroxy-pyruvate, metabolic simulations show that turnover of photorespiratory metabolites is expanded into the night. Comparison of simulations for hpr1-1 with those for the wild type allowed investigating the effect of a perturbed photorespiration on N-assimilation.

Believing that cis-trans-dicarboxylic acids of cyclic saturated hydrocarbons might undergo a rearrangement similar to that of stable unsaturated acids into their labile forms, trans-hexahydro-p-phthalic acid was exposed 10 days in MeOH to an uviol lamp; there was no rearrangement, however, and only 10% of the trans-monomethyl ester, needles, m. 125°, was no obtained; after 14 days’ illumination, 10% of the di-Me ester, m. 71°, is obtained. Similarly, trans-pentamethylene-1,2-dicarboxylic acid after 10 days gives the trans-monomethyl ester, needles, m. 45°; after 30 days, about 10% each of the mono-Me and dimethyl ester, oil of disagreeable odor. BzOH after 8 days gives about 30% BzOMe; if a trace of HCl is added, the yield of ester is increased to about 56%. PhCH:CHCO2H is not perceptibly esterified in pure MeOH, but if a very small amount of HCl is added 4 g. acid after 8 days yields 2.5 g. of a mixture of stable and allo-acids and 1.5 g. of practically pure stable ester.

Sui, Zongming; Huang, Jianguo; Yuan, Ling published the artcile< Ceriporia lacerata HG2011 enhances P mobilization and wheat agronomic performance irrespective of P fertilization levels>, COA of Formula: C19H34O2, the main research area is Ceriporia lacerate phosphorus fertilization wheat agronomic level; colonization; fertilization; nutrient uptake; phosphate-mobilizing micro-organism; soil phosphorus.

To identify soil phosphorus (P) mobilization and wheat agronomic performance in response to the P mobilizer Ceriporia lacerata HG2011 could provide a new strategy for improving fertilizer P efficiency in wheat cultivation. Liquid culture showed that C. lacerata HG2011 converted Ca3(PO4)2, FePO4, AlPO4, phytate, lecithin and RNA into soluble inorganic P, which was stimulated by ammonium and urea but less influenced by P supply. In the incubation experiment, this fungus colonized on wheat roots, and mobilized P in the soils regardless of Olsen P levels. The efflux of protons, organic acids and phosphatase could be involved in insoluble P mobilization. In the greenhouse pot experiment, C. lacerata HG2011 increased soil Olsen P under different P fertilization levels, improved wheat P uptake by 15.39%-28.70%, P fertilizer use efficiency by 4.26%-13.04% and grain yield by 12.24%-22.39%. Ceriporia lacerata HG2011 was able to colonize on wheat roots, mobilize P in soils and improve wheat agronomic performance irresp. of P fertilization levels. Ceriporia lacerata HG2011 could be used to enhance the quality of compost or as a bio-fertilizer for P mobilization in modern sustainable agriculture.

Glioblastoma is the most prevalent primary malignant brain tumor in adults and is characterized by poor prognosis and universal tumor recurrence. Effective glioblastoma treatments are lacking, in part due to somatic mutations and epigenetic reprogramming that alter gene expression and confer drug resistance. To investigate recurrently dysregulated genes in glioblastoma, we interrogated allele-specific expression (ASE), the difference in expression between two alleles of a gene, in glioblastoma stem cells (GSC) derived from 43 patients. A total of 118 genes were found with recurrent ASE preferentially in GSCs compared with normal tissues. These genes were enriched for apoptotic regulators, including schlafen family member 11 (SLFN11). Loss of SLFN11 gene expression was associated with aberrant promoter methylation and conferred resistance to chemotherapy and PARP inhibition. Conversely, low SLFN11 expression rendered GSCs susceptible to the oncolytic flavivirus Zika. This discovery effort based upon ASE revealed novel points of vulnerability in GSCs, suggesting a potential alternative treatment strategy for chemotherapy-resistant glioblastoma.

The tandem reaction of photoinduced double hydrogen-atom transfer and deoxygenative transborylation for chemo- and site-selective reduction of nitroarenes into aryl amines under catalyst-free, room temperature conditions was disclosed in excellent yields. In this reaction, isopropanol (iPrOH) was used as hydrogen donor and tetrahydroxydiboron [B2(OH)4] as deoxygenative reagent with green, cheap, and com. available credentials. In particular, a wide range of reducible functional groups such as halogen (-Cl, -Br and even -I), alkenyl, alkynyl, aldehyde, ketone, carboxyl, and cyano are all tolerated. Moreover, the reaction preferentially reduces the nitro group at the electron-deficient site over another nitro group in the same mol. A detailed mechanistic investigation in combination of experiments and theor. calculations gave a reasonable explanation for the reaction pathway.
