Zeiner, Pia S.; Filipski, Katharina; Filmann, Natalie; Forster, Marie-Therese; Voss, Martin; Fokas, Emmanouil; Herrlinger, Ulrich; Harter, Patrick N.; Steinbach, Joachim P.; Ronellenfitsch, Michael W. published the artcile< Sex-Dependent Analysis of Temozolomide-Induced Myelosuppression and Effects on Survival in a Large Real-life Cohort of Patients With Glioma>, Computed Properties of 112-63-0, the main research area is .

To investigate the association of radiochemotherapy-induced cytopenia with sex and its potential effect on survival in patients with glioma. We retrospectively analyzed cytopenia during temozolomide-based concomitant radiochemotherapy in 492 patients with glioma. Histol. grading, mol. pathol., surgical procedures, adjuvant chemotherapy subsequent to the radiochemotherapy phase, and overall survival (OS) were recorded. The extent of cytopenia was correlated with sex and outcome. Treatment-induced severe cytopenia (leukocytopenia, lymphocytopenia, neutropenia, and thrombocytopenia) was more frequent in women than men (44 vs 18%; p = 0.0002). In women with IDH-wt high-grade astrocytomas, there was a neg. correlation of severe cytopenia in general and thrombocytopenia in particular during temozolomide radiochemotherapy with OS independent from other predictors (92 [77-111] vs 73 [21-127] weeks; p <0.05). In men, there was also a trend for this unfavorable effect. In addition, severe cytopenia in all blood cell lineages correlated with reduced temozolomide dose exposure during radiochemotherapy (all p <0.05 in the total cohort) and reduced dose exposure was independently associated with worse OS (hazard ratios for OS in complete vs reduced temozolomide dose in the total and female cohort 0.66 [0.47-0.92] and 0.4 [0.24-0.69], p <0.05). Our anal. of treatment-induced cytopenia in a large cohort of patients with glioma confirms that women are at higher risk and demonstrates an association of cytopenia with shortened survival in women. This study provides Class II evidence that women with glioma treated with temozolomide-based concomitant radiochemotherapy have more frequent treatment-induced severe cytopenia than men and that severe myelosuppression correlates with worse OS in women. Luciana del Valle, Rivero; Carmen, Maturano; Maria Jose, Rodriguez-Vaquero; Maria, Saguir Fabiana published the artcile< Utilization of Oenococcus oeni strains to ferment grape juice: Metabolic activities and beneficial health potential>, Safety of (9Z,12Z)-Methyl octadeca-9,12-dienoate, the main research area is utilization Oenococcus strain ferment grape juice; Antibacterial activity; Antioxidant capacity; Grape juice; Metabolism; Oenococcus oeni.

This study aimed to investigate the behavior of Oenococcus oeni MS9 and MS46 strains in sterile grape juice (SGJ, pH 4.0) incubated at 30°C, in terms of growth and glucose, organic acids and total phenolic compounds utilization. In addition, their antimicrobial activity and the changes in antioxidant properties of fermented juice with selected strain were evaluated. Both strains grew without lag period by ∼1.40 log CFU/mL at 12 days with maximum growth rates of about 0.019 h-1. After this time the MS9 and MS46 strains counts declined by 0.6 log units and remained unchanged resp. O. oeni MS46 was evaluated in SGJ for low inoculum size (∼104 CFU/mL). In this condition it also grew without lag period by 3.11 ± 0.01 log CFU/mL with a μmax of 0.05 h-1. Glucose and L-malic and citric acids were simultaneously utilized but at different rates and extents, yielding mainly lactic acid with concomitant pH reduction Acetic acid ranged between 11 and 19 mmol/L. Total phenolic compounds significantly decreased in fermented SGJ with strain MS9 but not MS46. In this last condition, the antioxidant activity increased by 21%. In addition, both O. oeni strains showed antibacterial properties against Escherichia coli 700, Salmonella Typhimurium and Listeria monocytogenes. O. oeni strains, especially MS46, with the ability to growth in SGJ, high malolactic potential and adequate sugars and organic acids profiles from the sensorial viewpoint may be used to ferment grape juice with safer and healthier properties than fresh juice.

Canale, Vittorio; Rak, Aleksandra; Kotanska, Magdalena; Knutelska, Joanna; Siwek, Agata; Bednarski, Marek; Nowinski, Leszek; Zygmunt, Malgorzata; Koczurkiewicz, Paulina; Pekala, Elzbieta; Sapa, Jacek; Zajdel, Pawel published the artcile< Synthesis and pharmacological evaluation of novel silodosin-based arylsulfonamide derivatives as α1A/α1D-adrenergic receptor antagonist with potential uroselective profile>, SDS of cas: 112-63-0, the main research area is silodosin arylsulfonamide adrenergic receptor antagonist; arylsulfonamides of alicyclic amines; benign prostatic hyperplasia; silodosin; tamsulosin; uroselective activity; α1-adrenoceptor antagonists; α1A/B/D receptor selectivity.

Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) is the most common male clin. problem impacting the quality of life of older men. Clin. studies have indicated that the inhibition of α1A-/α1D adrenoceptors might offer effective therapy in lower urinary tract symptoms. Herein, a limited series of arylsulfonamide derivatives of (aryloxy)ethyl alicyclic amines was designed, synthesized, and biol. evaluated as potent α1-adrenoceptor antagonists with uroselective profile. Among them, compound 9 (3-chloro-2-fluoro-N-([1-(2-(2-(2,2,2-trifluoroethoxy)phenoxy]ethyl)piperidin-4-yl)methyl)benzenesulfonamide) behaved as an α1A-/α1D-adrenoceptor antagonist (Ki(α1) = 50 nM, EC50(α1A) = 0.8 nM, EC50(α1D) = 1.1 nM), displayed selectivity over α2-adrenoceptors (Ki(α2) = 858 nM), and a 5-fold functional preference over the α1B subtype. Compound 9 showed adequate metabolic stability in rat-liver microsome assay similar to the reference drug tamsulosin (Clint = 67 and 41 μL/min/mg, resp.). Compound 9 did not decrease systolic and diastolic blood pressure in normotensive anesthetized rats in the dose of 2 mg/kg, i.v. These data support development of uroselective agents in the group of arylsulfonamides of alicyclic amines with potential efficacy in the treatment of lower urinary tract symptoms associated to benign prostatic hyperplasia.

Serbanovic, Ana; Branco, Luis C.; Nunes da Ponte, Manuel; Afonso, Carlos A. M. published the artcile< Osmium catalyzed asymmetric dihydroxylation of methyl trans-cinnamate in ionic liquids, followed by supercritical CO2 product recovery>, Related Products of 112-63-0, the main research area is osmium asym dihydroxylation cinnamate ionic liquid supercritical carbon dioxide; taxol side chain osmium dihydroxylation catalyst recycling.

In this work, osmium-catalyzed asym. dihydroxylation (AD) of Me trans-cinnamate was studied. Osmium and chiral ligand catalysts were immobilized in ionic liquid only, without any other reaction solvents, while the recovery of the product was performed by extraction with supercritical CO2, and compared with results obtained by extractions with organic solvents such as hexane and di-Et ether. In supercritical CO2 extraction experiments, optimal extraction pressure was found and ionic liquid chosen, so that the highest reaction yields coupled with lowest osmium content in the crude product can be achieved. Finally, recycle experiments of the same (ionic liquid + catalytic system) mixture were successfully conducted. Application of ionic liquids and supercritical CO2 in osmium catalyzed AD allows for the isolation of the diol basically without contamination with osmium, in high yield and enantiomeric excess, and it makes possible the efficient reuse of ionic liquid solvent and the catalytic system. The stereoselective dihydroxylation of trans-cinnamate gave (αR,βS)-α,β-di(hydroxy)benzenepropanoic acid Me ester.

Nagumo, Ryo; Omori, Kohei; Muraki, Yukihiro; Iwata, Shuichi; Mori, Hideki; Yamada, Hidetaka published the artcile< Correlation between Macroscopic Diffusion Rates and Microscopic Interactions in Ethylene Glycol-Based Solvents>, Computed Properties of 112-63-0, the main research area is diffusion residence time ethylene glycol based solvent MD simulation.

An evaluation of mol. interactions is important for estimating macroscopic properties, such as solubility and diffusivity. In this study, for several types of ethylene glycol-based absorbents, we discuss the correlation between a macroscopic property (mol. diffusivity) and a microscopic criterion (residence time) using mol. dynamics simulations for pure solvent systems and CO2-loaded solvent systems. The neg. correlations between the diffusivity and the residence time can be divided into categories, depending on the number of constituent hydroxy groups of the solvent mols. The disparity between the categories arises from whether hydrogen bonding can be formed between the solvent mols. This study leads to the systematic estimation of the mol. diffusivity from the theor. prediction of the residence time. We believe that the residence time is suitable as a criterion to evaluate macroscopic properties.

Zlatic, Nenad; Mihailovic, Vladimir; Ljesevic, Marija; Beskoski, Vladimir; Stankovic, Milan published the artcile< Geological substrate-related variability of Teucrium montanum L. (Lamiaceae) essential oil>, Formula: C19H34O2, the main research area is Teucrium montanum essential oil geol substrate related variability.

This study aimed to determine the qual. variability of essential oils of mountain germander – Teucrium montanum L. (Lamiaceae) at the population level, depending on the type of geol. substrate. Ten samples of essential oils originated from aerial plant parts of populations from calcareous and ten from serpentinite were tested by GCxGC-MS method. The obtained results showed that the serpentinite populations have more than 3 times higher essential oil yield than calcareous populations. Based on the average values for the relative percentage amounts of T. montanum essential oils, it was shown that the sesquiterpenes (34.89%) are the main compounds in analyzed essential oils. Population from calcareous habitats synthesize twice as many aliphatic hydrocarbons than populations from serpentinite habitats, while populations from serpentinite habitats synthesize twice as much mono- and sesquiterpenes. The compounds with highest relative percentage amounts in calcareous populations was the hydrocarbon tetracosane (9.02%), while in serpentinite populations it was oxygenated sesquiterpene, limonen-10-ol (4.81%). Compounds which were only detected for calcareous populations are: dodecane and isophytol, while for serpentinite populations are: 3-caren-2-ol, carvone oxide and pyronene. The obtained results indicate a significant influence of the habitat geol. substrate on the qual. characteristics of the T. montanum essential oil. Differentiation of calcareous and serpentinite populations into two distinct groups based on the essential oil composition indicate the significant presence of specific chemotypes developed by the influence of various edaphic characteristics.

Large quantities of organic matter are continuously deposited, and (a)biotic gradients intersect in the soil-rhizosphere, where biodegradation contributes to the global cycles of elements. The betaproteobacterial genus Aromatoleum comprises cosmopolitan, facultative denitrifying degradation specialists. Aromatoleum aromaticum. pCyN1 stands out for anaerobically decomposing plant-derived monoterpenes in addition to monoarom. hydrocarbons, polar aromatics and aliphatics. The catabolic network’s structure and flexibility in A. aromaticum pCyN1 were studied across 34 growth conditions by superimposing proteome profiles onto the manually annotated 4.37 Mbp genome. Strain pCyN1 employs three fundamentally different enzymes for C-H-bond cleavage at the Me groups of p-cymene/4-ethyltoluene, toluene and p-cresol resp. Regulation of degradation modules displayed substrate specificities ranging from narrow (toluene and cyclohexane carboxylate) via medium-wide (one module shared by p-cymene, 4-ethyltoluene, α-phellandrene, α-terpinene, γ-terpinene and limonene) to broad (central benzoyl-CoA pathway serving 16 aromatic substrates). Remarkably, three variants of ATP-dependent (class I) benzoyl-CoA reductase and four different β-oxidation routes establish a degradation hub that accommodates the substrate diversity. The respiratory system displayed several conspicuous profiles, e.g. the presence of nitrous oxide reductase under oxic and of low-affinity oxidase under anoxic conditions. Overall, nutritional versatility in conjunction with network regulation endow A. aromaticum pCyN1 with broad adaptability.

Zhang, Bolin; Liu, Ning; Kang, Kui; Zhang, Renbo; Hao, Meilin; Song, Peiyong; Wang, Qingrong; Xie, Yuxiao; Li, Chuntao published the artcile< Dietary guanidineacetic acid supplementation ameliorated meat quality and regulated muscle metabolism of broilers subjected to pre-slaughter transport stress by metabolomics analysis>, HPLC of Formula: 112-63-0, the main research area is guanidineacetic acid dietary supplementation broiler meat muscle metabolism metabolomics; Qiandongnan Xiaoxiang chicken; gas chromatography−mass spectrometry; guanidine acetic acid; muscle metabolomics; pre-slaughter transport stress.

Pre-slaughter transport stress could induce multiple comprehensive variations in physiol. and metabolic parameters of broilers. However, the entire metabolomics of pre-slaughter transport stress and supplementation of exogenous energy regulatory substances on broilers is still poorly understood. The metabolome characteristics of broilers subjected to 3 h pre-slaughter transport stress combined with 1,200 mg/kg guanidinoacetic acid (GAA1,200) supplementation were analyzed using gas chromatog.-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) in this study. The results showed that, compared to the control group (no transport), 3 h pre-slaughter transport stress (T3h) decreased creatine (Cr), phosphocreatine (PCr) and ATP (ATP), and increased ADP (ADP), adenosine monophosphate (AMP) and the ratio of AMP to ATP in pectoralis muscle (PM) of broilers by high performance liquid chromatog. (HPLC) anal. However, GAA1,200 supplementation reversed the neg. effects induced by 3 h pre-slaughter transport stress. Besides, GAA1,200 supplementation elevated mRNA expression of creatine transporter in PM. Our metabolomics approaches demonstrated that 38 and 48 significant metabolites were sep. identified between the control group and T3h group, and T3h group and 3 h pre-slaughter transport stress combined with GAA1,200 supplementation group using the standard of variable importance in the projection values >1 and P < 0.05. Among these, the metabolites involved in amino acid metabolism (alanine, glycine, serine, threonine, cysteine , methionine, phenylalanine, tyrosine, and tryptophan), oxidative stress (3-methylhistidine, 1-methylhistidine and glutathione), non-protein amino acid (citrulline) metabolism, and energy metabolism (Cr, PCr, sarcosine, and glycocyamine) were confirmed through pathway enrichment anal., which could be chosen as suitable candidate targets for further anal. of the effects of exogenous energy substances on broilers subjected to transport stress.
