In recent years, additive manufacturing of polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) has gained interest for the development of soft electronics. To build complex elec. devices, fabrication of multilayered structures is required. We propose here a straightforward digital printing fabrication process of silicone rubber-based, multilayered electronics. An inkjet-printable PDMS solution was developed for the digital patterning of elastomeric structures. The silicone ink was used together with a highly conductive silver nanoparticle (Ag NP) ink for the fabrication of all-inkjet-printed multilayered elec. devices. The application of the multilayered circuit board was successful. The sheet resistances were below 0.3 Ω/â–? and the conductive layer thickness was less than 1μm. The elec. insulation between the conductive layers was done by printing a 20-25μm-thick dielec. PDMS layer selectively on top of the bottommost conductive layer. Effect of high hydrostatic pressure on pasting properties, volatile flavor components, and water distribution of cooked black rice was written by Meng, Ling;Zhang, Wencheng;Hui, Ailing;Wu, Zeyu. And the article was included in Journal of Food Processing and Preservation in 2020.Category: esters-buliding-blocks The following contents are mentioned in the article:

The effect of high hydrostatic pressure (HHP) on pasting properties, volatile flavor components, and water distribution of cooked black rice (BR) was investigated. BR samples were subjected to HHP treatments at 200, 300, 400, and 500 MPa for 15 min, and then cooked for further evaluation. Results showed that HHP-treated samples exhibited lower viscosity compared to the control group, with the lowest value at 500 MPa. Among 126 flavor compounds identified in cooked BR stored for 7 days, the total contents of three key flavor components (alcs., ketones, and aldehydes) were greatly enhanced, indicating that HHP contributed to the aroma quality of cooked BR. Water characteristics were determined by low-field NMR (LF-NMR), and three water fractions were detected and identified as T21, T22, and T23. The value of T21 gradually decreased with the increase of pressure, suggesting that HHP reduced the retrogradation degree of cooked BR. Octyl acetate (cas: 112-14-1) belongs to esters. Esters are widespread in nature and are widely used in industry. In nature, fats are in general triesters derived from glycerol and fatty acids. Esters are responsible for the aroma of many fruits. Many esters have the potential for conformational isomerism, but they tend to adopt an s-cis (or Z) conformation rather than the s-trans (or E) alternative, due to a combination of hyperconjugation and dipole minimization effects. The preference for the Z conformation is influenced by the nature of the substituents and solvent, if present. Lactones with small rings are restricted to the s-trans (i.e. E) conformation due to their cyclic structure.Electric Literature of C10H20O2

Vaporization/sublimation enthalpies of mono- and dimethyl-esters estimated by solution calorimetry method was written by Samatov, Aizat A.;Nagrimanov, Ruslan N.;Miroshnichenko, Evgeniy A.;Solomonov, Boris N.. The additive scheme for calculating the solvation enthalpies of aliphatic compounds has been developed for linear mono- and dimethyl-esters. Ester group contribution to the enthalpy of solvation in n-heptane was obtained. Accuracy of the proposed approach for determination of solvation enthalpies of linear mono- and dimethyl-esters was tested by comparison with exptl. solvation enthalpies. In most cases, deviations do not exceed 1 kJ·mol-1. It was found that the dependence of the solution enthalpies of mono- and dimethyl-esters on the number of carbon atoms in the mol. can be fitted by power function. This dependence and a group-additivity scheme for solvation enthalpy were used for estimation of the enthalpies of phase transitions of mono- and dimethyl-esters. Evaluated values of sublimation, vaporization, and fusion enthalpies at 298.15 K are in good agreement with exptl. data obtained by conventional methods. “Neapolitan limmo” is an ancient and rare sweet Mediterranean lime, now almost extinct but used until a few decades ago for the production of a fragrant liqueur called the “four citrus fruits”. The objective of this work was to compare, through the use of chem. (flavonoids, volatile organic compounds, and chiral compounds) and mol. (DNA fingerprint based on RAPD-PCR) markers, the residual population of Neapolitan limmo with other populations of sweet limes, identified in Calabria and known as “lemoncetta Locrese”. We report for the first time specific botanical characteristics of the two fruits and unequivocally show that the ancient sweet Mediterranean limes Neapolitan limmo and lemoncetta Locrese are synonyms of the same Citrus species. Owing to the biodiversity conserved in their places of origin, it will now be possible to recover, enhance and implement the use of this ancient sweet lime for agro-industrial purposes. The volatile components of nine com. beers were characterized by headspace-solid-phase microextraction (HS-SPME) coupled with gas chromatog.-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). Multivariate anal. was conducted to evaluate the similarities and differences between the volatile components and bioactive compounds present in the target beer samples. Thirty-eight volatile compounds were identified, and their chem. categories were determined Alcs. and esters were determined to be the predominant volatile components in samples. The differences and classifications of the beer samples were analyzed through principal component anal. and cluster anal. The anal. of the volatile compounds in beer samples revealed that the type and content of the volatiles can influence beer quality and taste. A butyric acid recovery process using octyl acetate is proposed, and the design details of the extraction and subsequent distillation processes were investigated. Ternary equilibrium data for the extractor design were derived from mol. simulations and exptl. measurements. A new procedure for estimating the thermodn. parameters was introduced to determine the effect of the parameters on extractor design by comparison with previously reported parameters. Using the proposed recovery process with the newly estimated thermodn. model, 99.8% butyric acid was recovered from the fermentation broth at a recovery rate of 99%. The energy demand for the proposed process was found to be lower than the average demand for several reported butyric acid recovery processes. The investment cost is projected to be lower than that of other butyric acid processes due to the high efficiency of extraction solvent. The recovery cost of butyric acid was comparable to its selling price. This study involved multiple reactions and reactants, such as Octyl acetate (cas: 112-14-1Name: Octyl acetate).

Synthesis of task-specific imidazolium ionic liquid as an efficient catalyst in acetylation of alcohols, phenols, and amines was written by Chaubey, Snehkrishn A.;Mishra, Roli. And the article was included in Chemical Papers in 2020.Quality Control of Octyl acetate The following contents are mentioned in the article:

Herein, we report the synthesis of task-specific amino-functionalized imidazolium ionic liquid, acetate1-(2-tert-butoxycarbonylamino-ethyl)-3-methyl-3H-imidazol-1-ium; (Boc-NH-EMIM.OAc), as an efficient catalyst for the acetylation of alcs., phenols, and amines in the presence of acetic anhydride (acetylating reagent). Remarkably, acetic anhydride in the presence of 10 mol% of catalyst (Boc-NH-EMIM.OAc) under solvent-free conditions showed excellent acetylation activity in shorter duration of time. On the basis of this, a general procedure for acetylation of alcs., phenols, and amines has been developed. The ionic liquid (Boc-NH-EMIM.OAc) can be readily recovered and reused successfully up to four consecutive cycles without any significant loss of its catalytic activity. We have been able to show that this acetylating method has many advantages. It gives high yields, takes shorter time, and develops the possibility of benign environmental-friendly process. Process intensification through continuous flow reactions has increased the production rates of fine chems. and pharmaceuticals. Catalytic reactions are accelerated through an unconventional and unprecedented use of a high-performance liquid/liquid counter current chromatog. system. Product generation is significantly faster than in traditional batch reactors or in segmented flow systems, which is exemplified through stereoselective phase-transfer catalyzed reactions. This methodol. also enables the intensification of biocatalysis as demonstrated in high yield esterifications and in the sesquiterpene cyclase-catalyzed synthesis of sesquiterpenes from farnesyl diphosphate as high-value natural products with applications in medicine, agriculture and the fragrance industry. Product release in sesquiterpene synthases is rate limiting due to the hydrophobic nature of sesquiterpenes, but a biphasic system exposed to centrifugal forces allows for highly efficient reactions. Conventional thermal pasteurization (90°C and 30 s), high pressure processing (HPP: 600 MPa, 4°C and 300 s), ultrasound processing (US: 50°C, 750 W and 36 min) and microwave processing (MW: 800 W, 80°C and 70 s) were evaluated by examining their effects on the sensory and nutritional qualities of mandarin juice. The treated samples had < 2 log CFU/mL total aerobic bacteria, which is equivalent to microorganism inactivation. Sugar and acid components were almost constant for all the treated mandarin juices, and no differences between treatments were perceptible. However, the mandarin juice treated with novel technologies maintained better color (L*, a* and b*), nutritional value (ascorbic acid, total phenolic, total carotenoid content and phenolic components) and aroma than the thermally pasteurized one. This study showed that US, MW and HPP are good novel processing techniques to inactivate microorganisms and maintain the sensory and nutritional quality of mandarin juice.
