Chemical Engineering Journal (Amsterdam, Netherlands) published new progress about Alkylation. 110-42-9 belongs to class esters-buliding-blocks, name is Methyl decanoate, and the molecular formula is C11H22O2, Category: esters-buliding-blocks.

Araujo, Maria Flavia Rodrigues Starling published the artcileSimultaneous thermal liquefaction of sugarcane bagasse and esterification with ethanol and fusel oil: One-Step process for biofuel production, Category: esters-buliding-blocks, the main research area is ethanol fusel oil biofuel thermal liquefaction sugarcane bagasse esterification.

Sugarcane bagasse is an abundant residue from the ethanol/sugar industries and its liquefaction can be a low-cost process for the production of liquid biofuels. However, the resulting biocrude has high acidity, which requires an upgrading before being used. In this study, ethanol and fusel oil, which is the heavy residue of ethanol distillation made up of higher alcs., were used as solvents for the liquefaction of bagasse. The 1:10 biomass:solvent ratio mixture was used at 300 °C for 30 min and (10 bar) N2 atmosphere. A mixture of both solvents was also tested to make a comparative study. The process with ethanol showed 72% bagasse conversion, but the best result showed 91% with fusel oil, producing a low biochar content (9%). After the distillation of the liquid product, a biocrude with high combustion heat (30.6 MJ.kg-1) and rich in esters was obtained. The results of GC/MS revealed the greater presence of esters with substituted isoamyl groups (51.2%) and, to a lesser extent, phenolic compounds (2.5%). The biochar has a higher heating value of 30 MJ.kg-1 and special thermal stability, suitable for application as a solid fuel. The biocrude was mixed with marine diesel (5%) and the properties of the mixture were evaluated, without relevant modifications. This innovative process showed the use of two residues, bagasse, and fusel oil, to produce a biofuel to be used with different types of diesel, with economic and environmental gains in a cycle economy for the ethanol industry.

Catalysts published new progress about Adsorption. 110-42-9 belongs to class esters-buliding-blocks, name is Methyl decanoate, and the molecular formula is C11H22O2, Synthetic Route of 110-42-9.

Zhang, Jianghua published the artcileEfficient production of medium-chain structured phospholipids over mesoporous organosulfonic acid-functionalized SBA-15 catalysts, Synthetic Route of 110-42-9, the main research area is phospholipid mesoporous organosulfonic acid silica functionalized catalyst.

It is highly desirable that efficient recoverable heterogeneous catalysts should be developed to replace the costly biocatalysts used in producing structured phospholipids (SPLs) with medium-chain fatty acids (MCFAs). Thus, mesoporous Pr and Ph sulfonic acid-functionalized SBA-15 materials synthesized via surface modification methods were investigated for the soybean lecithin interesterification with Me caprate or caprylate. The physicochem. properties of the synthesized solid acids were deeply studied by small-angle X-ray diffraction, SEM, transmission electron microscopy, Fourier transform IR and pyridine adsorption, etc. to build the possible structure-performance relationships. The results revealed that amounts of organosulfonic acid groups were successfully grafted onto the SBA-15 support, and most of the surface acid sites contained in the as-prepared organic-inorganic hybrid samples were assigned as strong Brönsted acid sites. Notably, the functionalized SBA-15 materials exhibited promising catalytic behaviors in producing MCFA-enriched SPLs under mild conditions (40°C, 6 h) when compared with com. Amberlyst-15 and typical phospholipases or lipases, mostly due to their high surface area, ordered structure and adequate Brönsted acid sites. Besides, the as-prepared materials could be easily recycled five times without obvious deactivation. This work might shed light on alternative catalysts for SPL production instead of the costly enzymes.

Chemical Engineering Journal (Amsterdam, Netherlands) published new progress about Adsorption. 110-42-9 belongs to class esters-buliding-blocks, name is Methyl decanoate, and the molecular formula is C11H22O2, HPLC of Formula: 110-42-9.

Xu, Dan published the artcileSelective oxidation of alcohols to high value-added carbonyl compounds using air over Co-Co3O4@NC catalysts, HPLC of Formula: 110-42-9, the main research area is alc carbonyl compound cobalt tetraoxide carbon catalyst selective oxidation.

The sustainable catalytic transformation of alcs. to high value-added fine chems. is a significant and challenging research topic. Herein, a set of nitrogen-doped carbon encapsulated Co-based catalysts (Co-Co3O4@NC-T) were prepared by using low-cost dicyandiamide, glyoxal and cobalt nitrate as precursors. The obtained catalysts were utilized for the selective oxidation of alcs. to high value-added esters and carboxylic acids with air as the oxygen source and displayed wide applicability for the oxidation of both aromatic and aliphatic alcs. Based on the controlled experiments, the protective effect of N-doped carbon structure and the synergistic effect between Co core and Co3O4 species guaranteed the high reaction conversion and selectivity. Benefitting from heterogeneity and magnetism of the catalyst, it can be easily recycled and reused for long-term stability. Reasonable mechanisms of selective oxidation reaction were proposed through EPR anal. and controlled experiments The present work provides a facile strategy for potential large-scale preparation of heterogeneous catalyst for sustainable and green catalytic transformations.

Soudagar, Manzoore Elahi. M. published the artcileThe effects of graphene oxide nanoparticle additive stably dispersed in dairy scum oil biodiesel-diesel fuel blend on CI engine: performance, emission and combustion characteristics, Synthetic Route of 110-42-9, the main research area is graphene oxide nanoparticle biodiesel diesel blend engine combustion emission.

In the present investigation, the effects of graphene oxide nanoparticles on performance and emissions of a CI engine fueled with dairy scum oil biodiesel was studied. Nanofuel blend was prepared by dispersing graphene oxide in varying quantities in dairy scum oil Me ester (DSOME)-diesel blend. Sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) was used as a surfactant for a steady dispersion of graphene oxide nanoparticles in the fuel blends. The dispersion and homogeneity were characterized by UV-visible spectrometry. An ideal graphene-to-surfactant ratio was defined, highest absolute value UV-absorbency was seen for a mass fraction of 1:4. The concentration of surfactant above or below this ratio resulted in reduction in the stability of dispersion. Graphene oxide nanoparticles were amalgamated with dairy scum oil biodiesel at proportions of 20, 40 and 60 ppm using ultrasonication technique. Experiments were performed at a constant speed and varying the brake power and load condtions. The results were notable enhancements in the performance and emissions characteristics, the brake thermal efficiency improved by 11.56%, a reduction in brake specific fuel consumption by 8.34%, unburnt hydrocarbon by 21.68%, smoke by 24.88%, carbon monoxide by 38.662% for the nanofuel blend DSOME2040 and oxides of nitrogen emission by 5.62% for fuel DSOME(B20). Similarly, the addition of graphene nanoparticles in DSOME fuel blends resulted in significant reduction in the combustion duration, ignition delay period, improvement in the peak pressure and heat release rate at maximum load condition. Finally, it is concluded that nano-graphene oxide nanoparticles can be introduced as a suitable substitute fuel additive for dairy scum oil biodiesel blends to enhance the overall engine performance and emissions characteristics.

The effects of different closure materials for stoppers were evaluated on the volatile and non-volatile composition and sensory profile of an Italian grappa (a fermented grape pomace brandy) stored in bottles for 12 mo. With respect to tech. stoppers, common micro-granulated cork stoppers increasingly absorbed the distillate over storage and released more intense non-volatile compounds determining the browning of grappa. Higher alcs. and esters were the main compounds contributing to the volatile profile of grappa and were correlated to pungent and floral/fruity aromas, resp. Esters and alcs. from C3 to C8 (Et acetate, Et hexanoate, 3-methyl-1-butanol acetate, 2-methyl-1-propanol, 3-methyl-1-butanol and 1-hexanol) decreased from three to six months of storage and further increased. Instead, the esters Me decanoate, Et decanoate and Et dodecanoate increased from three to six months and then decreased. The sensory profile of grappa was also affected by the common micro-granulated cork stopper after one-year of storage in bottle as determined by the trained panel.

Although traditional practitioners prescribe Malewana Madhumeha Choorna hot infusion (MMCHI) in Sri Lanka to combat diabetes, its antidiabetic properties have yet to be explored. We examined the in vitro hypoglycemic activity of MMCHI using α-amylase, α-glucosidase enzymes, and glucose uptake assays. Further, in vitro antioxidant activity was determined using DPPH (2,2 diphenyl-1-picrylhdrazyl) and H2O2 free radical scavenging activities. To identify the phytochems. present in the hot infusion, we conducted solvent-solvent fractionation (hexane, chloroform, Et acetate, methanol) procedures and subjected them to gas chromatog.-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). Both MMCHI and fractions exhibited a dose-dependent inhibition of glucose uptake and the enzymes α-amylase and α-glucosidase. The hot infusion exhibited enzyme inhibitory activities more or less similar to the standard drug acarbose. Enzyme inhibition was especially pronounced with α-amylase. Glucose uptake by MMCHI was more potent than that of the standard drug, especially at the 125μg/mL dose. Strong antioxidant scavenging activity, comparable to that of the standard drug, was observed in the MMCHI, further indicating its antidiabetic potential. The presence of organic compounds and essential oils in the extract was responsible for potent antidiabetic activities via inhibition of α-amylase enzyme. Also, MMICH exhibited strong free radical scavenging abilities. The current study justifies the use of MMCHI to manage diabetes.

Morales, M. L. published the artcileVolatile metabolites produced by different flor yeast strains during wine biological ageing, Formula: C11H22O2, the main research area is volatile metabolite yeast strain wine biol aging; Flor yeast; GC-MS analysis; Heatmap; Sherry wine; Volatile compound.

Sherry white wine called Fino is produced by dynamic biol. ageing under the action of flor yeasts using traditional practices aimed at ensuring uniform quality and characteristics over time. These kinds of yeasts provide typical sensory properties to Fino wines. Although there are studies of the volatile composition of these wines submitted to biol. ageing in wood barrels, there is a lack of knowledge on the particular volatile profile produced by different flor yeast strains from Sherry zone wineries. For this reason, the aim of this study was to analyze the volatile profiles produced by 15 pure culture flor velum yeasts, with the goal of observing their suitability for obtaining high quality Fino sherry wines. Volatile composition was determined by dual sequential stir bar sorptive extraction, followed by GC-MS anal. All yeast strains studied produced the increase of most acetals, highlighting acetaldehyde diethylacetal which was the compound that most increased. Among terpenes, nerolidol and farnesol underwent remarkable increases. However, results showed that in a month of biol. ageing, significant differences were observed among the volatile metabolites produced by flor yeast strains studied. Only some of them stood out for their high production of volatile compounds characteristic of Sherry Fino wines, which are good candidates for producing starter cultures.

Separations published new progress about Calibration. 110-42-9 belongs to class esters-buliding-blocks, name is Methyl decanoate, and the molecular formula is C11H22O2, Recommanded Product: Methyl decanoate.

Mezo, Emerencia published the artcileThe role of ionic liquid interaction in the separation of fatty acid methyl esters-polyunsaturated geometric isomers in GC-MS, Recommanded Product: Methyl decanoate, the main research area is fatty acid methyl ester ionic liquid chromatog column interaction.

Knowledge of the type and level of saturated and unsaturated fatty acids in food and clin. matrixes is of practical importance, but the wide variety of fatty acids makes analyses very complex. The discrimination of the geometric isomers of fatty acid needs proper and effective separation conditions. The efficiency of three different stationary phases was evaluated by GC-MS methods in the separation of fatty acids in their Me ester forms. Significant differences were observed in the efficiencies of polysiloxane-based (non-polar HP-5MS and medium/high polarity DB-225MS) and ionic liquid-based (SLB-IL111) columns. Baseline separation of the geometric isomers of linoleic acid Me ester was obtained by the extremely polar SLB-IL111 column, showing a preference over the other two columns. The optimization of the exptl. conditions (response linearity, limit of detection, limit of quantification, system suitability, intraday and interday repeatability and accuracy) showed the separation power of the ionic liquid interaction in the analyses by using short (25-30 m long) columns. By deducting the general principles of the interaction, predictions can be made for the separation of other isomers. The results facilitate the precise identification of various types of fatty acids in real samples for nutritional information.

Goi, Yohsuke published the artcileDual functions of TEMPO-oxidized cellulose nanofibers in oil-in-water emulsions: Pickering emulsifier and unique dispersion stabilizer, Formula: C11H22O2, the main research area is TEMPO oxidized cellulose nanofiber oil water emulsion Pickering emulsifier; dispersion stabilizer.

The emulsifying and dispersing mechanisms of oil-in-water emulsions stabilized by 2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidin-1-oxyl (TEMPO)-oxidized cellulose nanofibers (CNFs) have been investigated. The emulsifying mechanism was studied by changing the oil/water interfacial tension from 8.5 to 53.3 mN/m using various types of oils. The results showed that the higher the oil/water interfacial tension, the greater is the amount of CNFs adsorbed at the oil/water interface, making the CNF-adsorbed oil-in-water emulsions thermodynamically more stable. Moreover, the amount of CNFs adsorbed on the surfaces of the oil droplets increased with increasing interfacial area. The dispersion stability of the oil droplets was dominated by the CNF concentration in the water phase. Above the critical concentration (0.15% weight/weight), the CNFs formed network structures in the water phase, and the emulsion was effectively stabilized against creaming. Emulsion formation and the CNF network structures in the emulsion were visualized by cryo-SEM.
