Synthesis and antibacterial activity of some novel urea and thiourea derivatives of anacardic acid prepared from com. available anacardic acid which is obtained from natural cashew nut shell liquid (CNSL). The newly prepared compounds were tested for activity against Gram pos. and Gram neg. bacteria. Most of the compounds were active compared with the standard drug ampicillin.
