Liu, Ya published the artcileHigh-strength shape-memory organohydrogel based on two orthogonal supramolecular effect: Gelator-induced phase-transition and metal-coordination interaction, Quality Control of 142-90-5, the main research area is shape memory organohydrogel supramol gelator phase transition metal coordination.

Shape-memory hydrogels are extensively applied in various fields. However, the existing shape-memory hydrogels with simple shape morphing, such as tensile and bending deformations, cannot satisfy complex and diverse requirements. When the hydrophilic and lipophilic structures were integrated into the same gel network, the heterogeneous structures can be sep. controlled by two independent supramol. interactions. Here, we prepared an organohydrogels with two orthogonal supramol. networks (metal-coordination interaction of hydrogel framework and gelator-induced phase-transition of organogels inclusions) via photoinitiated polymerization and soaking in Fe3+ solution Importantly these two non-interfering orthogonal supramol. networks endow the gel excellent mech. properties and a unique dual-programmed shape-memory behavior, enabling highly accessible complex shape deformation, such as kirigami and multidimensional deformations. The organohydrogels can be used to fabricate smart devices for multidimensional on-demand fluid delivery. Consequently, our organohydrogel materials, with sophisticated and high-strength shape-memory properties, can further promote the practical application of gel materials in complex environments.

Seyedi, Mastooreh published the artcileToward Mechanical Recycling of Polystyrene/Polypropylene Blends with Bottlebrush-Modified Graphene Oxide as a Compatibilizer, Name: Dodecyl 2-methylacrylate, the main research area is mech recycling polystyrene polypropylene blend bottlebrush graphene oxide compatibilizer; bottlebrush; compatibilization; graphene oxide; polymer blend; polymer recycling.

The compatibilization of immiscible polystyrene/polypropylene (PS/PP) blends with virgin graphene oxide (GO-V) and GO modified with a bottlebrush reactive copolymer layer (GO-P) is reported. This practically important blend was chosen since, currently, PS and PP are recycled to a very low degree. The amphiphilic bottlebrush copolymer synthesized by us contained hydrophobic and hydrophilic side chains and was attached to the GO nanosheets via epoxy functionality. The GO modification and the introduction of GO into the blend were conducted from water. Thus, the introduction of the compatibilizing nanomaterial can be conducted during the mech. recycling washing stage in a real-world situation. The final blend was prepared via melt mixing using an extruder. We examined the influence of GO modification and the mixing order on the blends’ morphol., rheol., and mech. properties. Thermodn. calculations predicted a higher interfacial activity of GO nanosheets in PS/PP/GO-P blends than that in PS/PP/GO-V blends. The morphol. and rheol. study assessed this prediction. It was demonstrated that the bottlebrush-modified GO-P sheets were readily driven to the PS/PP interphase. The mech. measurements showed enhanced mech. properties for PS/PP/GO-P blends, especially for those in which GO was first premixed with PS.

To determine the mech. properties of a newly-developed CAD/CAM resin composite block and compare with other resin composite blocks and a polymer-infiltrated ceramic block.Exptl. composite block was formulated by our proprietary resin and filler technologies and cured via Hot Isostatic Pressing (HIP). Bar-shaped specimens (1 x 4×12 – 13 mm, n = 10) for flexural strength, flexural modulus and modulus of resilience were sectioned from block materials and measured in accordance to modified ISO-6872. Cylinder specimens for compressive strength (2 x 4 mm, n = 8) and for diametral tensile strength (6 x 3 mm, n = 8) were milled from the block materials and tested according to ASTM-D695 and ANSI/ADA-Specification #27, resp. Block specimens (5 mm, n = 3) for Vickers hardness were polished and measured for five indentations on each specimen. The data was analyzed by one-way ANOVA and post-hoc Tukey tests (p â‰?.05).Exptl. composite block showed higher or significantly higher flexural strength, flexural modulus, modulus of resilience, compressive strength, diametral tensile strength and Vickers hardness than the other com. available block materials except Vita Enamic for flexural modulus and hardness and Cerasmart for modulus of resilience. Some pos. correlations were observed among the different mech. properties.New composite block exhibited higher mech. properties as compared to com. available composite block materials. Superior mech. properties for resin composite block materials were obtained by composite and curing processing technologies. Resin composite blocks with higher mech. properties are good options for the fabrication of CAD/CAM indirect restorations.

Nagy, Antal’s team published research in Journal of Applied Entomology in 2022-04-30 | CAS: 140-11-4

Journal of Applied Entomology published new progress about Autographa gamma. 140-11-4 belongs to class esters-buliding-blocks, name is Benzyl acetate, and the molecular formula is C9H10O2, Application In Synthesis of 140-11-4.

Nagy, Antal published the artcileAddition of 4-oxoisophorone improves performance of bisexual lure for Autographa gamma (L.) (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae), Application In Synthesis of 140-11-4, the main research area is oxoisophorone phenylacetaldehyde benzyl acetate eugenol Autographa.

In field trapping tests the addition of 4-oxoisophorone (2,6,6-trimethylcyclohex-2-ene-1,4-dione) to the known ternary bisexual lure (consisting of phenylacetaldehyde + benzyl acetate + eugenol) significantly increased catches of the silver Y moth Autographa gamma, an important migratory noctuid pest. Both female and male moths were attracted, supposedly in the natural sex ratio of the local population. Traps baited with the quaternary lure caught 27.9% of the number of moths in traps baited with synthetic sex pheromone (all males), and the two types of lures showed similar seasonal trends when following the quant. changes in moth flight throughout the whole season. This suggests that the improved quaternary bisexual lure could be efficient enough to yield a new tool for detection and monitoring of A. gamma, resulting in more reliable plant protection decisions based on female catches, and can provide data for studies where the catch of females and data on sex ratio are indispensable.

Hedayati Marzbali, Mojtaba’s team published research in Energy Conversion and Management in 2021-10-01 | CAS: 110-42-9

Energy Conversion and Management published new progress about Ashes (residues). 110-42-9 belongs to class esters-buliding-blocks, name is Methyl decanoate, and the molecular formula is C11H22O2, SDS of cas: 110-42-9.

Hedayati Marzbali, Mojtaba published the artcileHydrothermal carbonisation of raw and dewatered paunch waste: Experimental observations, process modelling and techno-economic analysis, SDS of cas: 110-42-9, the main research area is cellulose glucose xylose dewatered paunch waste hydrothermal carbonization.

In this study, dewatered and raw paunch waste, with 15 and 3 wt% total solids resp., generated at abattoirs was hydrothermally carbonized under subcritical water conditions. Higher solids content was found to produce higher hydrochar yield (i.e. 53% for 15 wt% compared to 33.5% for 3 wt%) at similar operating conditions of 10 bar and 240°C for 5 min. The morphol. differences were noted via SEM (SEM) in the hydrochar samples, and the surface area for processing raw paunch waste was found to be 68.1 m2 g-1 compared to 10.8 m2 g-1 in the case of dewatered paunch waste. The light bio-oil was mostly composed of phenolic compounds while the heavy bio-oil mainly contained long-chain fatty acids and their esters. Following the exptl. work, a full-scale ASPEN Plus process model was developed for a typical abattoir generating 27-tonne dry paunch waste per day. Pre-heater and hydrochar dryer contributed to 73% and 57% of the total energy for processing raw and dewatered paunch waste, resp., because of the high moisture content of the feedstock and hydrochar. After the equipment sizing and estimation of capital and operating costs, the discounted cash flow anal. was performed using the Nth-Plant financing assumptions. It was concluded that treating dewatered paunch waste is preferable as it: needed a smaller reactor i.e. lower overall initial investment, was less sensitive to bio-oil price, and improved the net present value over a period of 30 years to .8 MM. Besides the liquid hourly speed velocity, its com. viability is highly sensitive to the internal rate of return and existence of hydrochar dryer.

Mousavi, Nayereh Sadat published the artcilePredicting the surface tension of mixtures of fatty acid ethyl esters and biodiesel fuels using UNIFAC activity coefficients, Name: Methyl docosanoate, the main research area is surface tension mixture FAME biodiesel fuel UNIFAC.

This work presents the use of a formal thermodn. model together with UNIFAC activity coefficients model, without any further adjustable parameter, to predict the surface tension of biodiesel fuels based on the equality of chem. potentials between the vapor-liquid interface and liquid bulk. The biodiesel samples included in this work were reported previously in the open literature. They were produced from vegetable oils such as: canola, coconut, corn, cottonseed, hazelnut, lard, palm, peanut, rapeseed, safflower, soybean, sunflower, and Walnut. Surface tension values for 18 samples of binary, ternary and quaternary mixtures of fatty acid Et esters (FAEEs) at T = 298.15 were predicted with an average absolute relative deviation (AARD) = 1.39%. Surface tension values for 31 biodiesel samples composed by fatty acid Me esters (FAMEs) were also predicted at temperatures from 303.15 K to 353.15 K. The AARD value obtained for the 78 exptl. points of biodiesel samples was 1.86% which shows a very good agreement with exptl. measurements. In the UNIFAC method, predictions of surface tension values for the mixtures are based on the knowledge of the values of the surface tension for the pure components; these values were obtained from different sources. Also, two simple mixing rules on mass and mole fraction basis were used to predict the surface tension of biodiesel fuels. The AARD value obtained from the comparison between exptl. and calculated values were: 2.77% and 2.91% for mixing rules on mass and mole fractions, resp.
