The 1H and 13C NMR spectra show the specific interaction of the tungsten-oxo moiety in TBA[WO4] with both CO2 and the substrate. This study also shows the importance of developing bifunctional catalysts which can activate both CO2 and a nucleophile (amines, alcs., etc.).
