Menyo, Mattew Stephen; Hawker, Craig J.; Waite, J. Herbert published the artcile< Synthesis and characterization of water-soluble polymers with pendant nitrocatecholic functionalities>, Recommanded Product: Perfluorophenyl acrylate, the main research area is fluoropolymer polyethylene graft nitrodopamine.
The catechol functionality has found widespread application in both natural and synthetic adhesive systems due to its strong, reversible, noncovalent binding to metal hydr(oxides) and metal ions, as well as oxidative chem. which can give rise to covalent crosslinking. While mussels and sandcastle worms are able to delay or benefit from the rapid autoxidation of catecholic Dopa to Dopaquinone which occurs at alk. pH, premature oxidation is a problem which plagues isolated marine adhesive proteins and synthetic catecholic constructs. Nitro-substituted catechol has been shown to maintain remarkable metal binding properties, and the substituted catechol is stabilized against oxidation by the inductive and resonance effects of the nitro group. Here, using activated ester chem., polymers with pendant nitrocatecholic functionalities have been synthesized and characterized.
PMSE Preprints published new progress about Fluoropolymers, polyoxyalkylene-, graft Role: SPN (Synthetic Preparation), PREP (Preparation). 71195-85-2 belongs to class esters-buliding-blocks, and the molecular formula is C9H3F5O2, Recommanded Product: Perfluorophenyl acrylate.
