Ramalingam, S. K.; Samath, S. A. published the artcile< Reactions of β-diketonates with pyridinium bromide perbromide>, Name: (9Z,12Z)-Methyl octadeca-9,12-dienoate, the main research area is bromination pyridinium tribromide metal coordinated diketone; transition metal diketone ketoester Schiff bromination; aluminum diketone ketoester Schiff base bromination; ketoester metal complex bromination.
Reactions of PyHBr3 (Py = pyridine) with some metal β-diketones/β-ketoesters/their Schiff bases in EtOH yield various end products depending on the pH of the reaction. Under acidic conditions, metal chelates (MII = Cu, Co, Ni, Mn, Zn,; MVI = UO2) undergo diketone ring cleavage to give solid compounds of the type [PyH}2{MBr4]. Metal chelates (MIII = Co, Cr, Al, Fe, Mn; MIV = Th) yield the usual γ-bromo products but those derived from the Schiff base chelates of M(II) are unstable if left in solution In alk. medium, γ-bromo chelates are obtained in all the cases.
Indian Journal of Chemistry, Section A: Inorganic, Physical, Theoretical & Analytical published new progress about Bromination. 112-63-0 belongs to class esters-buliding-blocks, and the molecular formula is C19H34O2, Name: (9Z,12Z)-Methyl octadeca-9,12-dienoate.
